D&D 5E 5e has everything it needs for Dark Sun

So, I know this isn't how past editions have run defiling, but in my Wednesday night Dark Sun Savage Worlds game one other side effect of defiling is you can't cast spells from recently defiled ground. So there's a power level boost, but it forces you to move a bit. (The benefit I'm providing is that when you critically fail a power activation, you can choose to defile to get a reroll. If you don't defile, there's a nasty backlash table that's worse than normal power activation fails, which can be mitigated by picking up a custom Preserver edge)
I'll also generally mention that as a system, Savage Worlds is actually really well equipped to handle Dark Sun out of the box - you have to do custom races, but the core book provides rules for how to do that. I've got a few custom edges (read: feats) like the Preserver one I mentioned, which is also not that hard to do within the system. I'm just really happy with how it's gelling.

A capstone feature for the Psion should be the Wish spell. Mind over matter. Mentally will reality into existence.
I'd rather just see something like that on the list of powers and have a unique capstone, like Psionic Body or some sort of amplification of psionic power.

One capstone for the class? Or each archetype has its own capstone?

Actually, I would let players choose their capstone from several options. Make sure the capstone is one that they want.

Has anyone tried creating a 5e custom race for a size-Large Half Giant?

A size medium Goliath just does not satisfy for me.

A thread looked into Large size some time ago.

It turns out, Large size is totally balanced in 5e.

In previous editions of D&D, the main problem with Large was the extra reach and the extra damage from multiple opportunity attacks.

However in 5e, the reason Large size is balanced is, there is only one reaction per round. So there can only be one opportunity attack. So the extra reach doesnt really matter.

Getting lost in fantasy maps
That covers my experience @Yaarel. I skipped 4e, with lots of time spent in 3.x. Large characters with the more greater amount of the tactical map they can reach being very out of balance, plus up-damaging weaponry and attacks.

Not that every table uses it, but Large also requires a lot more water and food. In a Dark Sun campaign that does the un-fun accounting of water and food resources, 5e Large will consume vastly more. Not that it is a balancing mechanism, but there it is.

There is an issue with spell radiuses as well. For example, a medium creature who casts word of radiance (range 5 feet) can hit at max 8 targets (one for each square next to them) but a large creature hits 12 (two on each face plus four corners). The effect is more pronounced the wider the radius is, so that a large paladin can affect more allies with an aura than a medium can. Coupled with reach and the potential of using larger weapons with more damage dice, it's easy to see why WotC would shy away from them.
Now, if you want to deal with the headaches that causes, be my guest. But I completely understand why WotC doesn't want to open that Pandora's box.

I blame @vecna00 for this.

Started at 9ish. It's 1:30 now. So just under 5 hours of effort... Nice.

Shoot. I forgot to mention that Mearls is the one who came up with the 50% chance to regain a spell slot when defiling. I'll add that to the homebrewery, but I'm not gonna reprint the PDF and transfer the PDF to jpeg just to fix the Embeds... I'm not getting paid for this, after all.
