Ok,

Still - a large power boost because it means the Wizard has almost all of his spells available at a moments notice. It increases their versatility by a large margin and that's already a big strength of theirs over say the Sorcerer.
Well, not quite a moment's notice. The 1 minute per spell level means that you can't do it in the middle of a fight, and the increased flexibility means that Wizards don't just prepare the same list every day. You can afford to put in more niche stuff knowing that if the circumstances of the day changes, you can roll with it.
As for the strength of the Sorcerer, that's why I also give them access to all Metamagic at level 2, and the choices they make are about reducing the spell point cost for using those options by 1. IMO, Sorcerers are cool if they can use Metamagic every time they cast, and that power bump pulls them up to the level of the other classes.

And instead?

Personally I've found bonus actions mostly easy and straightforward with a few specific issues (such as shield master).

Some bonus actions add to the action economy, for example spells like flaming sphere and spiritual weapon. Further, the more things a player a player can do on their turn means more consideration of what is tactically the best, and that slows down play.

Falling UnSemi-conscious

If damage reduces you to 0 hit points and fails to kill you, you become semi-conscious, as if under the effect of the slow spell. This semi-consciousness ends 1 minute after you regain any hit points.

Note that this doesn't change the rule about making death saving throws or taking damage while at 0 HP.

Oohh that’s super interesting. I’d love to try that.

I've been messing around with this concept for a couple months now, but it was this thread (thanks @Stalker0 ) that finally made it click. Keep it simple. The original idea came to me when a PC put a couple of my monsters under the slow spell. It's super irritating, but also fun in the way it changes how you think about your turns in combat. I also felt like it was a very cinematic way to show a character 'on the ropes' and knew I wanted to connect it to being at 0 HP. Think I'm finally ready to introduce the concept to my players and see if they're on board. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether something like Greater Restoration should end the effect early. I'm inclined towards no, but may leave it up to them.

I have a feeling of deja vu... how many times I posted this already? I can fix 5e with one WORD:

Add "most" before "druids will not wear metal armor ".
I'd be more inclined to go with replacing "will not" with "cannot". Removes the ambiguity. But I'd also be inclined to magic wooden or animal scale armors to fit some of the medium armor options.

Throw all the Vancian magic rules into the firepit of irrelevance and all casters pick from all known spells without having to memorize over and over.

Toss out as much 4E junk as possible that survived into 5E, especially all the at-will ability stuff.
