If UK accents are OK, I would also suggest "A discovery of Witches" on Amazon

A Discovery of Witches is also available on Shudder, which is a cheaper Alternative to Amazon Prime. Stan Against Evil on Hulu is also a pretty good show.

Can I ask how old you and your mom are (ish). Reason I ask is that I'm in my 40s and mom is in her 70s, so things I would feel comfortable seeing with her now is different than when I was a teen or in my 20s. Also, my mon would likely not watch any of this stuff, like my wife.

Maybe Umbrella Academy, but I think there is more strong language and lots of gore. I like the 80s songs.
I'm mid 40s and she's early 70s. I still feel uncomfortable watching sex and nudity around her. lol But I also know she doesn't care for it or a lot of bad language.

She used to watch a lot of the older scifi channel shows like Warehouse 13 and Eureka. BSG and The Expanse were too boring to her. I think she's seen the newer alien doctor one (can't remember the name) and liked it, but I don't get Syfy on my cable plan so if it not streaming we're out of luck on that. Unless it's a local station I have to stream it.

She likes Manifest, I haven't seen it though. She likes Big Sky (or is it Blue Sky?) I haven't seen that one either. There will be some things we're not both going to like. She'll watch The Mandalorian and Boba Fett but not The Bad Batch or Rebels.

I just thought I might ask for a few suggestions for something we could both watch when we have the time. I'm on a nocturnal work schedule so we don't get a lot of TV time together. Excellent ideas so far. Thank you all.

That's probably Resident Alien, starring Alan Tudyk. I'm sorry you can't get it easily, because it is good.

Oh, you might also try The Orville, an excellent take on the Star Trek style, a little more grounded. Available on Hulu.

My mom recently moved in with me. We've been watching Lost in Space and The Book of Boba Fett together. Any genre shows that are mom friendly (mild language, no sex or nudity) you can suggest would be helpful. She has trouble with non American accents. She doesn't really care for superhero shows. We will certainly watch Strange New Worlds when it starts. I don't have Apple TV + but I have the other streaming services.
It's old, but Stargate SG-1 might be good.

Resident Alien is the one.newer shows like that and movies would be great. Since my cable is limited some shows go under the radar.

We watched Ron's Gone Bad last weekend. She watched Encanto on her own. Any animated movies would probably have to be of a Disney/Pixar variety. Is the most recent Toy Story movie any good?

Im watching Star Trek Discovery right now and its got a pretty fast pace. There is language every couple of episodes but its very few and far between. Some romance, but no sex scenes.
