If the only time the word "gods" would be mentioned, would be in a sidebar in the Cleric class description. That would be ok. I would cover it up with a post-it. And done. But that isnt how the 5e Players Handbook is written.

Now I cant even read about the astral elves without having yet even more Forgotten Realms "gods" infections.

There are some lore changes needed as well. Like Baldur’s gate for Descent into Avernus set up isn’t really comparable to much of Greyhawk and wildly difficult for other settings. For a home brew? The point is that Icewind Dale came out two years ago, and Candlekeep was the last specifically FR book released a year and a half ago. And Candlekeep IA very skin deep on that front.

And this is where you are wrong. Candlekeep is in no way SKIN DEAP. It has more FR stuff in it that RotFM. You are really giving the impression that you haven't read Candlekeep.
