What Would/Have You Used for Trek?

I want to run a short Star Trek game inspired more by Lower Decks and The Orville than TNG or Discovery. I like the Modiphius game a lot but it's a little heavy for what I have in mind.

What systems have you used successfully to run Trek style space opera?

Ages ago back in high school, my dad’s friend (and our history teacher) used classic Traveller for his Star-Trek inspired campaign.

I recall breaking every directive, prime or otherwise we came across, but the system was fine. It won’t do anything to impart a Trek-like feel. However, the mechanics get out of the way.

I could see using PbtA and just creating playbooks for engineer, security, medic, officer, etc... Dive right in and swim in the genre/setting and not worry about the mechanical heft.

I'm a little surprised nobody's mentioned Twerps Twek yet! Given that Star Trek has weapons that can instantly vaporize someone, I think something like FATE or the Apocalypse Engine might work best.

Fate is a pretty obvious choice.

Another is Ashen Stars, which is a Gumshoe game that is basically "Star Trek, after the fall of the Federation". It isn't particularly comedic, but they do a good job of emulating Trek's procedural style well.
