5E: Converting Monsters from White Dwarf Magazine for Fifth Edition

Dragon Warriors Combat Table
1. A green dragon warrior is also immune to the poisoned condition.
2. A dragon
warriors' Stealth equals its DEX save, Perception equals its WIS save.
Sorry, only now realized that it should be "dragon warrior's" because of "its DEX" and "its WIS"?

Strange. Another typo I'd thought I'd already fixed.

Heh. Like I said earlier somewhere upthread, it is a well-proven fact that nobody can proofread their own texts. Something to do with your mind filling in words and correcting mistakes before you recognize them. Of course, I used to think that I was the one exception to the rule - until I started writing texts for a rather respected company that employed a professional proofreader. Knowing this, I took extra care to deliver my texts to him without any mistakes in them whatsoever, and I often couldn't believe what this guy still managed to find in them. And this was in my native language and after running things through an (admittedly primitive) spelling checker.
The whole thing turned into a bit of a friendly war - which I lost without ever winning a single battle. I've never understood how this guy managed to do what he did, especially since you wouldn't be able to find a single mistake in anything that had been through his hands.

Anyroads. I've accepted the phenomenon as a fact of life ever since, even though I must sometimes still restrain myself when I read things I've run though my system of checks multiple times and I still find glaring mistakes, typos, and whole words missing in them.

Well you can (and I do!), but you never find everything.

Plus it's often an obvious error you put in in the first draft and got so used to stating at is stopped registering. Or you thought you'd fixed it but hadn't!

Anyhow, hopefully the Dragon Warriors are done know, so I'm just waiting for Casimir to sign off on them and we can move on to another White Dwarf beastie.

There aren't many from issue #21 left to do. It's just the Micepeople and the Cyclops left, unless my memory fails me yet again.

Now how do you notify an Enworld member in a post again?

I can never recall what the code is when I need to attract someone's attention to a thread (like Casimir, in this case).

It's something with a @ in it and that's all I can remember.

I have recently noticed people doing that and it's on my list of finding out how to do things on forums. I mean, I didn't even know that it alerted the addressee to the post it's in!

Micemen would be fine coz then we could start with my first ever attempt to convert a monster to 5E - you know, get me into the swing of things. Don't think Mr. Liber will be pleased though - I do believe he mentioned the word "vanilla" upthread in this respect.:)
Should be short and sweet, though, although perhaps not so if we have to DO the brownie first.

The cyclops - which I have named Amiraspian cyclops - would be interesting, because, technically, it would involve making up the Amiraspians as well!

EDIT: DO.

Well I remembered someone user-notified me a few days ago, so after some time rummaging through my recent posts I found dave2008 had done so in this post.

It was easy enough to examine the CODE and see how it's done.

Just use {USER=#####}@Name{/USER} with [ brackets instead of { and the User Number of the reipient.

I'll try notifying Casimir and you to see what happens.

I don't think you actually need the @, it's the USER=Number and /USER that does the work, but will put it in just in case.

Hello @Casimir! Hello @Ilgatto!

EDIT: It adds the @ automatically, so it's just {USER=#####}Name{/USER}.

EDITED EDIT: Hur? It didn't add the @ after all, at least on a second attempt I had to use {USER=#####}@Name{/USER}.

Wonder what happens if I just {USER=#####}{/USER} without any text?

Wait, what? I have a number?

Hmm... I don't think I was warned in any other way than getting a notification that you replied to my post. I would try the thing without quoting a post by you but then - of course - I don't know your "number"...

Hold on. Your edit has revealed my number! It's 86051. Now to find a way to remember it - and the numbers of other people.

If you point your mouse at an Enworld member's icon it'll show a link to their enworld member's page which'll have their number after the name.

So if you check the link from my avatar* (the picture above "Cleon, Hero" on the left of my posts), you'll see it ends "members/cleon.57383/" which shows my member number's 57383.

I'll try just notifying you in a post and not quoting you…

* You know, this Guy:
