Continuing the D&D executive producer's interview tour, gaming influencer Ginny Di asks a WotC's Kyle Brink about the OGL and other things.
yes, but then why would anyone complain when you replace it with something better. I agree that makes you technically correct that it was not the revocation of 1.0a that was the issue, but you could also say 1.1 would not have been an issue if 1.0a had not been revoked at the same time, as everyone would just have ignored it.
In the end it takes both to become an issue and here the revocation was definitely used in the context of being replaced with 1.1 or 1.2, not with being replaced by a better 1.0b or whatever number you want to choose.
But they did for the SRD 5.1.
Granted they were in panic at the time.
This interview was different. Instead of the free running format of the first two interviews, it looks like this was heavily edited and chopped. I didnt care for it honestly. Id rather hear him speak freely instead of only the gotcha moments GD seemed to be fishing for.
The 3 black halflings feedback came at the end of thier interview. It’s good.Honestly we need more interviews like hers. I didn't get the impression that she edited it heavily so much as she interspersed it with her observations and commentary (which I found useful). The previous interviews suffered from just letting him give their talking points without any amount of push back. She was able to push back where it was warranted but didn't come off as overly aggressive in that respect. Overall the best interview so far I would say
I don’t know, I stopped theirs when they immediately started talking about how they do not believe what he said. They lost me then and there, that is just poor form. The 3 black halflings feedback came at the end of thier interview. It’s good.
Her music videos are great. Good DM advice, too.I liked this interview and I liked her commentary. First time seeing this youtuber. It's probably my favourite out of the three I've watched.
My favorite interview has been Alphastream's, but this is the one I would send to someone who wanted a TL;DR summary if the controversy.I liked it too, but it was weird to see the interview was so edited down. I mean the other two interviews were an hour, I assume this one was too. That means she cut out about 75%+ of the interview. Regardless, I like her commentary and the video got to the meat of the questions and much more manageable time frame.
I don't believe half of what he says either.I don’t know, I stopped theirs when they immediately started talking about how they do not believe what he said. They lost me then and there, that is just poor form.
At that point I no longer care what you have to say as I do not want you to taint my opinion, I rather draw my own conclusions. It also didn’t help that I perceived them as adversarial throughout the interview already.
The Strahd incident was a bunch of people not understanding what they're allowed to do with the Creative Commons.Yeah, I'm thinking after the whole "Strahd" incident they want the existing OGL SRD sections reviewed again before they release anything under CC. . .so they don't repeat that mess.
