D&D Movie/TV D&D Movie Hit or Flop?

I'm certain that this movie will be a success relative to other D&D movies, as there is a much larger audience, and much better production value.

Whether it will be a financial success depends on a number of factors such as the production and promotion costs, it's release date, and what other movies are playing at the time that may draw dollars away from it.

Honestly I bought a ticket for the 31st of March from Silver City in Richmond Hill, splurged on a D-Box seat and AVX. This is the first Forgotten Realm movie ever.

I just got my tickets.

One thing I've noticed in reviews is some taking shots at the MCU when comparing this movie's visuals to Marvels. One person said this movie looks better then every marvel movie for the last 5 years.

The special effects house only has to work on one D&D property at a time, which helps. The Marvel FX folks are grossly overworked and exhausted.

yeah that was my rough impression too. First listen, nor if I like it or not. Second deeper listen, hey I'm kind of digging this. Its kind of a retro sound to me.

I'm unaware of any action movie that's had this strong of reception. The closest is Black Panther
