Mando season 3

I loved the bit about the highest mountain in the planet. It really puts in perspective how massive this city is
Yeah, that was good. I wonder if the rest of it's still down there, or if it was long since cleared out and replaced with more buildings, and the chunk of it that's visible is actually all there is to it, put back in place for purely symbolic value.

I like seeing the New Republic is not some saintly government, mainly because no government ever could be. And people shocked the New Republic would use Imperial tech, must also be shocked that the US government used Nazi tech after WWII.

I enjoyed the content with Kane and Pershing in and of itself. But I didn’t like how it was stuffed in between two action-packed segments with Bo and Din.

After the starfighter battle, I was revved up to see what those two got up to next, so it was a sudden slamming on of the brakes when we spent the majority of the episode plodding around Coruscant instead. I spent the bulk of the episode impatiently waiting for them to cut back to Bo and Din.

If it hadn’t been one big lump of slowness sandwiched between two slices of excitement, I might have enjoyed it better.
Yep. That's the page I'm on. The Coruscant stuff was perfectly fine as Star Wars content (at least as a change of pace) but if you leave me waiting to go to the fireworks factory so that we can go do something unrelated and tonally wildly different with characters I'm just meeting for the first time, you've just placed a needless veneer of Poochie-ness upon those characters that they really don't deserve.

I liked that glimpse of life in the New Republic. It's something we haven't really seen before - most content in this era has stuck to frontier worlds.

The New Republic having to cope with rehabilitation, and in some instances deprogramming of former Imperial personnel is one of those things that, in retrospect, would obviously be a concern, but which tends not to be considered.

I wonder to how great an extent their amnesty programme has been infiltrated.

In the new canon ex imperials and their sympathizers were directly responsible for the 1st order.

Kinda hinted at inTLJ.

It's actually EU worldbuilding. I don't know where it originates but I read about it first in one of the High Republic novels a few years ago.

EDIT - looked it up - that is where it's from, that High Republic book (Light of the Jedi). Interesting that it made it to here. Also wow I read that novel almost immediately after it came out, and I had no idea.

Conceptually it predates that mentioned iin Legends 1994 iirc. And that concept art.
You had monument plaza and a resort on the last mountain peaks.

Trillion people is to low for what's depicted onscreen anyway.

I liked this episode. Lots of easter eggs over 40 apparently. I only got around a dozen.
The bit with the park and the mountain tip I've read in novels. I'm sure Wookipedia will tell which ones. Some of the Coruscant locations look similar to those in The Old Republic MMO. There is a dig at "Imperial Centre", from ANH. Cubicles from Andor. Train with droid ticket inspectors from The Clone Wars. Mind Flayer from D&D, via Stranger Things. One of the Mandalorians wears a cape Boba Fett style.

We had episodes of The Mandalorian in Boba Fett, now we have an episode of Andor in The Mandalorian. What next? And episode of Ewoks in The Bad Batch?!
