D&D 5E OAR #8

Warpiglet-7

Cry havoc! And let slip the pigs of war!
Well for what it is worth…

At gen con these were going for half price…
At the Goodman games booth.

I hesitated day one and they were almost all snapped up. I did get lost city and wish I would have forked out for castle amber. They did suggest once they were gone they were gone…

I just bought my pal temple of elemental evil. It was about 70 bucks online. I am guessing places have what they have and this may be it.

I have keep on the boreerlands as well. But lost city looks really cool.

I understand licenses end etc. be nice if there was transparency though either from Goodman or WoTC.
The opacity around the OAR licenses has been annoying since the beginning.

Goodman continually gets asked for legal PDFs of the OAR books and they just sit there in stony silence. All they have to do is say "that's not included in our license," and that would be enough. I cannot imagine WotC put them under an NDA about it.

I can and very much bet they did. And if anybody would stick to it it would be Goodman Games.

I believe Goodman himself is a lawyer?

Might be years before we get any sort of hint about the license situation, and more likely a tell-all book with interviews of former WootC staff who take the NDA less seriously

Why on earth would WotC want it to be a secret that they didn't want OAR books to have PDFs? They can be NDA-happy all they want, but that's a pointless restriction, unless they for some reason want their business partners to look like a bunch of weird jerks.

I have no real idea. They used to keep things secret that they just tell people now.

Maybe they want to keep the details of the deal secret so they just blanket NDA? Maybe they don’t want people talking about the lack of PDF. Especially their licensing partners. Maybe they have a blanket policy with licenses?

Or did?
