That said, if WotC wants to make this a profitable venture, creating a D&D channel specific app is probably the way to go.
I don't think that's the right way to go. Your own app is what you do when you want a self-contained ecosystem to charge people fees from. FAST means they're selling viewer eyeballs to their advertisers, which means they want simple easy access and casual viewers, not rigorous controls. So being on existing platforms both cuts down on their overhead and gives them access to existing user bases.

Making your own streaming app is like all the media companies that didn't want to just sell their content to Netflix for distribution, they wanted their own vertically integrated streaming service where they got All The Money. You might have noticed, that's not working out so hot for them.

Is a cut-down Freevee app with the D&D logo that directs people to the channel and its ads really "rigorous controls?"

G4 re-revived! (At least the D&D side.) Seems like a good variety to start, although I don't understand the 24-hour TV format. The content and the platform the content will be on are niche as well... Don't see it working out well but hope I'm disproven. At least imagine the episodes will be uploaded somewhere more accessible like YouTube.

P.s. I hope one day the d&d-media scene will expand beyond LA. Some variety in the way they play and run games would go a long way.

Hopefully it has better luck then G4.
