I would not be at all surprised if this model simply doesn't work out the way everyone hopes it does. Plenty of internet content models don't. We'll see.
Pluto is the Paramount FAST.
It's essentially solely responsible for this, as P+ barely has an ad-supported tier in Q3 (that's coming)

That's similar across other FAST. The idea that this won't work is belied by the fact that more than a half-dozen of the top 20 most watched distribution channels are FAST. Three of the top 10 are. They're more watched than many of the hyped pay-for-streamers.

That's honestly a separate issue. Are they bringing in revenue sufficient to offset their costs? And after that, are they bringing in sufficient revenue to please their corporate masters?

Large parts of the US are now news deserts because their profitable local newspapers weren't profitable enough and their owners (often hedge funds) stripped them for parts and shut them down.

But they're competing at a different game. The streamers' primary form of revenue is subscriptions -- the advertising is still the icing on the cake at this point.

According to the big platforms that own both, they're making a higher percentage of profit via FAST than they are subscription streaming.
The costs are lower, as people don't expect Oscar performances.

OK, looks like the endless commercials issue was the site crashing subtly. Still I’d much rather pay to remove the commercials. Oh and in demand.

Also here is an interview with Mathew Lillard.

I just watched this video and it made me REALLY want to watch the show. And yet finding the actual show on my Prime account was impossible.

It is truly a pain. I’ll see if I can direct link but they do shenanigans to try and prevent that. Which is kinda numb of them.
