Harlan's Razor leads us right back to the issue I spoke about before, which is the tendency for gamers to seriously overestimate the stupidity of people they disagree with. The sentiment he is expressing feels good. But I don't think it leads to greater understanding. That doesn't mean people having uninformed opinions can't be an issue. But I think it does mean, thinking you are smarter than the other person in a disagreement because they are less informed, less educated, etc doesn't entitle you to be a jerk.
This bears repeating. Sometimes the person who doesn't understand is us.

Thanks for linking an article that 100% proves my point for me. That you think this is an example that helps your case, proves that the conversation is pointless.

Yes, it has happened, and no, I am not okay with it...

Admittedly, it was only a few flakes and not nearly enough to stick, but still...

The scene would be so much better without the near-constant stream of bigotry. If you’re tired of being “persecuted” for being a bigot, maybe try the one thing you haven’t tried yet: stop being a bigot.
This is kind of the thing though, if you never get called a bigot, the issue doesn't seem as important. I have a friend on facebook who was complaining about it. What does one say when not facing these issues? Though as an old white I guy, I am sure I am, just never called on it, I mean I try not to be, for what it is worth.
