Just going to leave this here...
Maybe we should start Reporting them as spam. Would that be appropriate, @Morrus , @Umbran , @Dannyalcatraz ?Honnestly, ENworld should revisit its rules so that Hot Takes/Misinformations/Clickbait content would be considered similar to trolling or equivalent unwelcome posts.
After a time, you stop inviting the weird uncle constantly ranting about conspiracy theories at your family dinners, no?
Eliminating hot takes alone would mean there would be almost nothing left on the site.Honnestly, ENworld should revisit its rules so that Hot Takes/Misinformations/Clickbait content would be considered similar to trolling or equivalent unwelcome posts.
Interesting thought experiment though. Wouldn't "no more hot takes" also necessarily eliminate Morrus' news posts about other people's hot takes and various nothing-burger drama in the RPG industry?Maybe we should start Reporting them as spam. I've started doing so today.Maybe we should start Reporting them as spam. Would that be appropriate, @Morrus , @Umbran , @Dannyalcatraz ?
I think pointing out mass hysteria you forum did not participate in would still be a good topic for columns and give extra bragging rights as the owner of the site who gives you real tabletop news, not doom saying.Interesting thought experiment though. Maybe. Of the threads I can see in the D&D 5E section, 4 of the top 11 are "hot takes," and about 7 of the top 10 in One D&D are "hot takes." It might be cool to not have so many immediately incendiary threads. That's also a whole lot of the forum's standard discussion topics that are instantly gone.I think pointing out mass hysteria you forum did not participate in would still be a good topic for columns and give extra bragging rights as the owner of the site who gives you real tabletop news, not doom saying.
