GreyLord

Legend
Could only go with Christopher Reeves, but was MIGHTY tempted to choose Nicholas Cage.

He WAS in a Live Action movie as Superman now, though...whether he was actually IN it or it counts as animated could be debated I think.

Coolest part was Micheal Keaton as Batman...and Christoper Reeve-Superman being their with Supergirl.

Oh, no, not Cage. He's not cut out for that kind of role. And lately, he's had no luck with movies at all.

Christopher Reeve all the way. He had sincerity, earnestness, goodness, and the physical presence. Years later, I think those same qualities are what made Chris Evans works as Captain America (before the movie came out, I thought Captain America an impossible sell in the modern era).

I think Henry Cavill could've been a good Superman, but as @Clint_L mentioned, the movies he was in misunderstood the character at its core.

ART!

Deluxe Unhuman
Christopher Reeve, without a doubt.

I love Henry Cavill in the role, and wish he had gotten his own sequel and/or a director who liked the character.

Definitely Henry Cavill for me.

I'm not a comics guy, and I love deconstructions and twists on the familiar, so I was totally onboard with the Synder "Superman as Christ figure" metaphor throughout the movies.

What about Clark Kent as angsty whiner?
