I thought Brandon Routh was very good as Clark Kent, and his performance as Superman was solid, but for me he never looked quite right as Superman.

I have similar feelings about Tyler Hoechlin - his look as Supemran doesn't quite work for me, but his performance is very good.

I threw a point at Routh because he was pretty damn good and in general he's just a great guy. Shocked that Welling's still sitting at a goose egg, though.

Nice to see Sephiroth getting a few votes though.

Definitely Henry Cavill for me.

I'm not a comics guy, and I love deconstructions and twists on the familiar, so I was totally onboard with the Synder "Superman as Christ figure" metaphor throughout the movies.
I've not watched these movies as I've long since learned that Snyder films are not for me, but what exactly about "Superman as Christ figure" is a deconstruction or a twist?

For me, the only 'twist' there would be Snyder's visual portrayal. Superman is a messianic figure, by design. He's so much the "sun god" that his later incarnations don't just have powers because of the yellow sun, but actively derive that power from sunlight. If Snyder's visuals had only been used as the Batman point of view I'd have been fine with it. It would have been a visual representation of his distrust of Superman. Instead it was the default view, completely ignoring that Superman really is "the big blue Boy Scout."

thats a good point, my opinion is that BS was okay as a Batman movie, but was terrible as a Superman movie. Snyder entirely missed the point of Superman being the Boy Scout - and just packaged up some blatant messiah visuals And an otherwise clueless schmuck driven by angst and a need for approval
