Upgrading my computer is nice, and I will enjoy it long term, but Saturday is a lost day of reinstalling things, discovering how many extra steps there are to set things back up again (set up Dropbox so you can set up Scrivener), etc.

I meant to convert a Cairn adventure to Shadowdark ahead of running the adventure tomorrow (which mostly means making a bunch of new monsters). That may end up happening late tonight.

I normally just assume replacing one of our laptops would be a multi-day process. If I'm lucky, only two.

The hard part is all the little things I'd done over the years that I didn't remember were building blocks for the other stuff, like having iCloud on my PC so that bookmarks would sync with my phone (and it was good that I had, because Firefox's native sync had a corrupted file and manually copying over the files from my old hard drive didn't work either, for some reason).

The problem is we have a lot of different software, especially games, so I get to dig out all the installers and in some cases go through some fo-fa-raw, and that's after transferring all the data files and configuring the desktop to suit us.

I don’t get it. Literally every post that dude makes is an instant line in the sand, ready to fight everyone. Why do people respond to him?
