I wasn't able to post over the weekend. Caught up (combat post in IC here, brief post in IC in vault) this morning. Apologies, but had an emergency filing due today dropped on me Friday and I've been a little preoccupied all weekend and most of today.

Should be back to the usual tomorrow.

No use to survive to the end with smites still available if we'll use 3HD to heal from what it deals in damage

Maybe between 3 of us, prone and with disadv from sap, and grappled we get it quickly?

For the spell components, what's the maximum for find familiar (10gp)?
I'm tempted to get 40x find familiar, and 1 pearl for identify (can't cast it, but maybe one day through pact of the tome). Total 500gp. I suspect there may be supply side limitations, so I wanted to check with you.

And a couple of tiny braziers (whatever those look like) for find familiar are also required (I didn't put any on my character sheet at character creation, that's an omission on my part).

This, of course, is if no one else want costly material components. Did anyone not at the Mystic Emporium want anything?

Oh, we can split the scrolls, or Benny can carry them. He's a caster, so likely in the back of most fights and able to cast.

You can take all the 500 but I’m sure @Lidgar might want some of that. Glyph of Warding is 200gp diamond dust per casting. Continual flame is 50gp in rubies etc.

40 castings of find familiar feels a bit excessive but, as I said it’s 500gp in “Generic material components” you don’t have to decide now.

You write 500gp material components on your character sheet. If you ever get identify, you just declare that 100gp of that is a pearl. Cross off 100gp and now you have 400gp and 1 pearl.

I hate tracking materials components. There are too many spells to track that. In 3e I have 15k worth of components written on my sheet in case I need that 5k diamond for resurrection. Or something.

ok, that works. Benny will grab the 500gp worth and it'll be for sharing.
How many arcane focuses (or foci) cand he get? Ditto for the spell component pouches?
Since he grew up on the streets, he's a bit of a hoarder, and maybe we'll need a mage that needs one.

It’s 5 to 10 minutes of time to make one pouch


The foci are locked in the cabinet and she’s not opening that. Do you need an arcane focus? She wouldn’t see any reason why you’d need 2 and a spell component pouch.

No particular need, but seeing that religious symbols got destroyed, I like the idea of having spares ;-) Benny will take a pouch if that's ok. I'll add this to chis character sheet, to share later: 500gp in material components, 1 arcane ingredient pouch, scrolls.

Religious symbols protected people. That’s why they got destroyed. Foci do nothing to protect you but they also don’t get destroyed. She’s giving you things you need. Not helping you stuff your pockets with treasure. If you want more stuff, you need to convince her why you need so much extra or try to steal it.

Also, given your time line, making multiple spell component pouches will tick away your last bit of daylight.
