They're no picnic for the other neurotypical folks, either. As a neurodivergent person it's so utterly frustrating trying to communicate with neurotypical people.

Sure. But you at least have a better chance to know today’s set of secret codes y’all use amongst yourselves. The subtleties and hints. The implications. They're no picnic for the other neurotypical folks, either.
Not that I know whether a professional would consider me neurotypical, but I think you give those who are too much credit. Based on the never-ending cycle of pedantry and personal affronts here between presumed neurotypicals...most of us don't know what the secret codes are either.Sure. But you at least have a better chance to know today’s set of secret codes y’all use amongst yourselves. The subtleties and hints. The implications.
As a neurotypical person, I wholeheartedly agree. It legit feels like living inside a spy novel trying to decode some of the things people say.
Same. I'm truly sorry things are hard for you. I wish I could say that they were easier for everyone else, but I'm not entirely sure they are.I just want people to be upfront and explicit. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Apparently that’s too much to ask.
I mean, here in Mexico.I’ll take your word for it- I don’t eat much street vendor food these days. I’m not gunshy, just not around vendors like that anymore.
Now I am very curious if I can taste the difference between guacamole made with 100% avocados or guacamole made avocado and zucchini.I mean, here in Mexico.
The "computer graphics" in TRON were practical effects as well -- the brightly-lined outfits were actually white suits with black stripes. I do love the original idea they had for the characters to go hatless, though it looks really weird to a longtime TRON fan such as myself; can't seem to find the images I remember, though.

Yeah, I've played in a couple of D&D campaigns using Magic canon/background as the settings. One tried to adapt some mechanical elements as well and didn't really work. The other just used the setting(s) (multiple planes; this was a 4E game running Paragon to Epic, and we got limited access to planar travel though we had no planeswalkers in the party), and was more successful and ran for a good while.I think it also falls into the area of “why isn’t an rpg of a popular license the most popular game in the market, like Marvel or Star Wars?” etc. Sometimes the translation of one thing into another doesn’t produce the same effect. Magic as an RPG may sound like a natural fit but it’s probably not going to do gangbuster numbers.
i'm half tempted to make a thread asking "how pessimistic are you?" but I feel like answers would be "I look both ways on a one way street" level![]()
Having been almost taken out by a car going the wrong way down a one way street (more than once) I consider that to be realism, not pessimism![]()
When I learned to drive it was mandatory; not just for pedestrians and cyclists who are often going the other way, but just for safety in case of a wrong way driver. I still do the same checks- first look in the direction of legal oncoming traffic, then a look for wrong-way traffic, then a second check for right-way before entering the intersection. For both-way traffic the order is instead first at driver's side (more dangerous to you in event of collision), second to the other side, lastly to driver's side again.Yeah, I always look both ways on one-way streets, I imagine that if I'm ever at risk of getting run over it will be by someone not fully compliant with the highway code
