Mr. Black
You and your eleven companions stand victorious in the halls of the reptilian cult, the fighter cleans off his blade as the dwarf and others drag bodies and loot into the antechamber. You were one of the two thieves hired to take care of traps and locked doors, now that the task is over the spoils of adventure unfold. Above the lit braziers the gems of an eidolon glint from the light of the flames, your companion Mr. Pink looks at you with a large grin on his face.
“Come on then, let's pry out those eyes from its socket. This is the big score we have been waiting for!"
You can look around and see the other companions busying themselves with maps, searching, and conversations. The Eidolon statue is about 18 feet tall and can easily be climbed, there is some particular faith it may belong to however you are not the largest expert on all things religion.

Snow Temple.jpg

You stand at the top of a stone temple dedicated to the deity of winter, the sunrise does little to sooth the cold wind that rushes through and against the four archways at the top of the church. This is a morning ceremony where you are the adept of honor. The Elder Feather Weaver stands with you anointing your vestment and armor, his voice is filled with wisdom and age.
“Wawaate, you are a chosen of the Winter God. Yet to complete this vestment there is but one feather that is missing, the feather of a White Dragon.”
The feather weaver points to the mountains behind the temple, and then to the rising sun behind the peak.
“As the ancient tradition requires, the feather must be brought here before the rising of the next sun. Do not wake the beast who sleeps in these lands. Let the cold wind guide you through the night.”
A task which seems impossible but has been done countless times now it is your turn, to set off on the journey and come back anointed in a complete vestment.

Bimble

The simple seed of the ancient oak tree has long sat in your care, while others of the grove had theirs sprout in the tradition of your circle you have not been near as successful. Long nights you have sat meditating in shame, your animal companion by your side. Long have you sat looking over the acorn, it has felt cold and distant since it was given to you. A crunch of leaves catches your attention. It is another druid from your circle, their appearance middle aged and colors of brown surround them.
“Bimble, I thought I might find you here.”
The tone of the Gnome is melancholy, there is something that the elder wishes to say to you, they are just having trouble finding the words to say it to you.
“Bimble you have always been a natural student, your bond between you and your companion speaks volume to that. I’ve discovered something in the Arch druid chambers recently and decided that you needed to know this.”

The elder waits for your questions.

Mr. Black looks at the huge gems. Worth a fortune. He sees words inscribed there: freedom

"Yeah. Gimme a moment to finish counting this."

As his counterpart turns his back, Mr. Black double-checks the book he'd slipped in his bag. Satisfied nobody had seen him put it there earlier, he closes the clasps, slings the heavy bag on his back and walks towards the statue.

The local legend is that these reptilian cultist worship a devil that grants them power for the sacrifices, you've seen firsthand that these are more than just rumors. Looking at the statue you can't tell what religious ideology had sprung forth from such an idol but the name one of the reptilian man spoke, Mo Loch. The fire lights the room and the gems seem larger in person as you get closer. Mr. Pink offers you a hand to pull you up to the shoulder of the statue, his obvious excitement cannot be quelled.

Bimble welcomes the distraction and looks up at the elder. He takes a moment to catch his composure and says respectfully: "Yes of course; what have you found? ". He tries to stay focused on the conversation, his mind wanting to go back thinking about the acorn. He reflexively pets his dog with affection, knowing he can always rely on the beast.

The elder leads a prayer of protection over you, as you wrap yourself in regalia you feel the cold welcoming a favor from the deity. The wind lashes down the mountainside over the rocks and rolls upon you as you depart the temple, with the prayer of protection you don't feel pain and can endure through the night.
The Ascent up the mountainside is no easy task, for six hours you traverse higher and higher having little time to catch your breath. Marking the trail upward you see the dyed leather straps flapping in the wind of those who have come before you, you can leave your mark behind as well if you so choose.
A distance of about three leagues or twelve miles away you spot the mouth of the cave, there appears to be two separate paths that can be taken. The first route crosses what appears to be a frozen lake set within the gulch of the mountains, the second will add an extra two hours as you skirt around the mountains.

With a sigh of his breath the elder lets slip the secret that is haunting him,
"I overheard the Arch Druid Zealously speaking about your circumstance, in context he had this rivalry with your father decades ago when they were young druids. When he was elected the Arch Druid of the circle we all thought it was over, yet he wouldn't allow it to be over.".
The elder looks as though a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. Yet there is more as he prepares himself for the second half of what he has to say.
"You've been cheated a chance to perform the rites of the circle. That Acorn you have is petrified, you'll have to find another from the great oak in the ruins deep in the grove."

He grabs Mr. Pink's hand as he climbs up. He's trailing a rope behind him, having left his heavy backpack on the ground. Taking the end of the rope tucked into his belt, he pulls up his backpack and rests it on 'shoulder' ledge. He lugs the pack back on his shoulder expecting to have to climb a bit higher.

"Whaddya think? You think we can pry it with a crowbar or do we need something more delicate?"

He looks into the eyes trying to decide how best to extricate the gems.

OOC: double post!

"Wait, let me cast Detect Magic"

He gestures and speaks the arcane language. Now auras appear all around him. He looks in every direction, hoping to locate something magical.

Mr. Black
Mr. Pink grabs out a Crowbar and shimmies it in the top of the eye socket, he then looks at your alarm as he has it in place.
"Well what do you see?"
Rogue Intoduction.jpg

You glance around the room from the shoulder of the statue overseeing the other adventurers that hired you talk about their loot and who is getting what, some of the stronger ones have magical auras around them from some spells other around them from their armor. As you look back at the gem there doesn't seem to be a magical aura coming from them, purely mundane but the size of the gem is near your head. It may be a gem worth 10,000 gold pieces in value and there are two of them.
((roll appraisal))

"Can we pull it or what? I'm not trying to get cursed here."
