Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I think my furnace has stopped furnacing. The power blinked off earlier, I smelled something odd when the power came back on. I couldn't find the source. The fan on the unit is blowing but the it's not warm. The thermostat is showing the temperature going down. I have space heaters and blankets so I'm not worried about tonight. I'm not going to be able to afford calling HVAC techs.

Be VERY careful!

Older space heaters can be dangerous if left on too long.

Unless you have electrician skills, don’t get too involved in diagnosing & fixing your HVAC- you might need to find a way to pay a pro or find someplace else to shelter.

One question: is your furnace a gas one? If so, perhaps it’s not igniting its fuel

I only play dumb on the Internet. I reached my limit of knowledge on furnaces. I also know better than to look for how to videos on YouTube, for this anyway. The space heaters are not too old, but I'm keeping an eye on them.

Instead of hiding behind calling something a "whataboutism" why not just explain why you're choosing this hill to make your stand on?
Around 2010, I remember it being in vogue to cite specific logical fallacies when you felt an interlocutor used one. It felt like a way someone could declare victory. Continued discussion usually devolved into calling each other morons. (Maybe I was just young).

I don't see it much anymore. The exceptions are motte-and-bailey and survivor bias, both of which have fun pictures. But things like "no true scotsman" have vanished, gone the way of "epic" and demotivators.

I don't know about that. I still see "No true Scotsman" quite frequently and ad hominem attacks are a frequent thing, on the 'net.

One of the advantages of our ancient and honestly somewhat alarming gas heater is its set up so you can tell whether the burners lit up by crouching slightly. Of course you usually know when you light it up anyway because of how great a housekeepers we are. :P

I own Battle Beyond the Stars and Spacehunter on dvd...

Re: Ocean State Job Lot... Your local one must be better than ours - in my entire life I think I've only ever bought five actually useful things there.
We love Ocean State Job Lot. They're the go-to spot for reading glasses since they're, like, $2 a pair. My wife also buys the chemical hand- and foot-warmer pads there, since they're so cheap. But they also have a lot of decent snack options, they have coffee at prices comparable to CostCo, they've got plants, they've got lawn furniture, etc. etc.
