I think my furnace has stopped furnacing. The power blinked off earlier, I smelled something odd when the power came back on. I couldn't find the source. The fan on the unit is blowing but the it's not warm. The thermostat is showing the temperature going down. I have space heaters and blankets so I'm not worried about tonight. I'm not going to be able to afford calling HVAC techs.

Be VERY careful!

Older space heaters can be dangerous if left on too long.

Unless you have electrician skills, don’t get too involved in diagnosing & fixing your HVAC- you might need to find a way to pay a pro of find someplace else to shelter.

One question: is your furnace a gas one? If so, perhaps it’s not igniting its fuel

I only play dumb on the Internet. I reached my limit of knowledge on furnaces. I also know better than to look for how to videos on YouTube, for this anyway. The space heaters are not too old, but I'm keeping an eye on them.

I have an antenna but with the poor weather and being more than 30 miles from the source METV doesn't come in very clear.
