Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Pineapple is absolutely great on pizza. But only with ham and jalepenos.

    4e D&D GSL Live

Reading the license, which is really a pretty insulting document, I was wondering why they even bothered making a GSL since they made sure in a lot of ways that no one far enough on the evolutionary scale to stand upright would ever use it. Why just not have a license and save the lawyer fees?

My heroes: Ryan Dancey and Peter Adkison

The OGL was one of the most amazing things to come about in gaming that I can think of. Ryan Dancey did a very good thing, there. Unfortunately, I just wish it had been done with a system that I enjoyed playing rather than 3E. I'd rather have my prostate examined with a spatula than play it. 4E...

D&D 4E 4e -- Is The World Made Of Cheese?

I don't think that's very accurate. 4E doesn't focus on combat any more than any other edition of DnD. What rules does 3E have for roleplaying that 4E doesn't? 4E includes and refines the old Skill Challenge system optional rule; that's something RAW that helps solve numerous non-combat...

    Amazon Orphans unite!

I canceled my order for the gift set and ordered the books individually from Amazon. They shipped this afternoon. Sure it's like, what, $12 more expensive, but that's not so bad. Better than waiting until July.

Dispelling the anti-4e misinformation and why 4e is the best ever!

The reason, IMO, that some people prefer 3E to 4E is this: 4E has removed much of the complexity inherent to the system; some people liked some of that complexity. As third party publishers, Dungeon and Dragon magazines, and WotC supplements are released and the complexity increases, at least...

    Yeenoghu Entry = AWESOME.

I agree. It was an awesome article and bodes well if they can keep that kind of quality throughout. I was very impressed. Oh, and here's the LINK.

Arachnophobes: how creepy is an undead spider?

Very horrible, trust me. I hate spiders. <shudder> They go for the eyes. Bastards always go for the eyes.

    Neat Little Gamist Rulesy Things

I love the way diseases are handled, too. I just wish Poisons had been handled the same way. Hopefully a 3pp takes pity and writes some up for us.

Warforged - new benchmark for racial stats/abilities

The Warforged write-up was extremely well done. I hope they do a few other races that way as the article was very good. I especially like the addition of a Racial Paragon Path.

    Offhand Attacks

That's a good rule of thumb but I disagree that everyone would choose it. You can only choose 2 at-will powers and some of them are very good. You would be giving up a potentially more useful ability for the ability to use a minor action to make a basic attack. If you're not using your minor...

    Offhand Attacks

Dracollich, I like the idea of adding in an option for a Shield bash. That fits a lot of character concepts, too. Damage doesn't have to be significant, but it would feel awesome to smash somebody's face with your shield now and then (and do damage as opposed to Pushing them).

    Offhand Attacks

Would making it an At-Will Power, all Martial Classes, be too powerful? Powers allow characters to do some crazy things and it would be balanced by forcing the character to choose the ability to attack with an off hand weapon instead of some other cool thing. Quick Strike At-Will - Minor...

    Offhand Attacks

NPCs aren't built the same, very true. I think, though, that looking at some of their abilities is a good way to find things that CAN work for the PCs. Take gnomes. They can fade away when attacked. If you decide to play one ... you can fade away when attacked. Just because the ability is...

    Offhand Attacks

I had originally thought of using a Move action but, after seeing the dwarf NPC and how he uses his Quick Punch as a Minor at-will action, I think that makes more sense for 4E. I think they're trying to avoid using Move actions for things not involving movement. And the Quick Punch does full...
