It's not offensive to me, personally, but it is just plain wrong. First of all, to get the offensive bits out of the way you will have to face the fact that gender differences of any numerical sort in an RPG are a big no-no in our society. Maybe we're a bit touchier about it than we should be...

I always felt Monk Weapons were rather silly. Personally, I think Shuriken should just follow the rules of throwing knives, Siangham is basically a crappy dagger, Kama is a Sickle, etc... The thing is, most, if not all of the Monk Weapons are already in existence as another weapon that's not...

Hell, if D&D 4E ends up being the way it's looking in all the preview materials so-far, I'd buy if Wizards released AD&D 4E. A stands for advanced.

I'll just idly note, while some feats are now excellent and feel useful like Alertness and Toughness, they've still managed to create some sub-optimal feats. Honestly, +2 on a reroll? Why not +4, it can only be used once per encounter, and is a reroll of a failed attack.

I've never played D&D on a grid, except for once with a group of munchkins who insisted. The best advice I can give is eyeball it, describe, fiddle if you need to, make maps for yourself but don't use a grid. Heck, make maps for the players but don't use a grid, just have arrows listing feet if...

I'd think this was really cool, if D&D were a videogame. It's not, however.

Extra example, the Wizard's staffs in Middle Earth. Also, as for suspension of disbelief...does not being able to disarm someone at all, only knock them out or kill them, and not even prevent them from attacking when you grapple them with their non-disarmable weapon not strain your disbelief?

Which is lame, IMO, because they could have actually made it so Wizards could fight using their powers. (Think Harry Potter, disarming an enemy caster of his wand with your magic missile.) But they've rather smashed that possibility into the ground. Seems like most of the good ideas that make...

Does it include lots of downer endings and rules for violent rape scenes, just like in his novels?

Doing things outside of dungeons and combat with orcs is what some people refer to as 'roleplaying'. Yes, even burning villages down. Since when is anything but dungeon crawling against the rules?

4&5 are really my biggest, if not only problems. A few of the later numbers, 6+ bother me a tiny bit but honestly I could live with them if not for 4&5.
