I look forward to seeing a lot of you there.

NOTE: not all of us "english-speaking germans posting on ENworld" are german.

There's quite a few Americans here too. I'll see how many of my gaming group can make it.

A good meeting point at Spiel would be the AMIGO D&D booth. AMIGO usually has a huge area covered and is therefore easy to see and hard to miss. Also, it's in one of the first exhibition halls, so you can't really get lost before getting there (Spiel takes place over 8-12 halls, I'm not sure).
Other booths are harder to find if you've never been there.
A possible meeting point could also be the open space between the halls (that's where the live-Rpgamers meet, too), but it's not that defined a space, so I could see running up to people asking whether they're from ENWorld.

I will be there on Thursday, probably, or perhaps Friday. I'm thinking about going there again on Sat/Sun, but am still undecided, as I have some engagements going on. Otoh, I would have to take a holiday for going Thursday...

It's usually no problem going to Spiel without speaking German. There are a lot of English and Netherlands vendors there, and of course some Americans. English is usually a viable option even at German booths - though not always :) Being the biggest European Games Fair, it's bound to have a little cosmopolitan audience, and the vendors know that.

Awww man, did I say Amsterdam. I knew you weren't from there so I have NO idea why I said that. I can only plead I was probably exhausted from work :D. Sorry 'bout that. Cool man, it will be great to meet up with you.

Awesome. Well, I'll be there every day of the Con. A lot of people seem to be coming on Sunday from EnWorld. Maybe I should start a poll about what day everyone is coming. Anyone got any hotel recommendations?

Ok Folks!

The poll has been up for a week and a bit now, It looks like it will be a close call, or even that we might need to meet up twice (once during the week, once on the weekend). As Berandor mentioned I think the AMIGO booth is probably the best place to meet up. I think we should give some descriptions of each other or post pictures so that we don't spend hours trying to guess who is who. :D. Also, for those attending Essen, I will have my mobile phone with me so we can always exchange numbers.

Ok everyone, here is a pic of me so you can identify me at Essen. It isn't the greatest, but it was the only one I could find where Eric's grandma wouldn't object ;).

I have suggested in the Poll that we meet up both Friday at noon and Sunday at noon to try and accomodate as many as possible. Sound good?
