D-day with powerloaders. Of course keeping the soldiers under armored when they have the gear to carry more armor fits the way Hollywood loves to portray the military

Not enough influence from Iron Man I'd say. It is like the studio is afraid we might forget what their precious actors look like if the suits had plates or a helmet that offered any real protection.

I think they want to be "realistic" and they based their design on an actual US army exoskeleton that was made.
