New River Gang

Part Three: The Final Assault

As Mord led a group back down the muddy banks of the lower lake, another group consisting of the classic River Gang of Kurzon, Udit, Auraia and Drako (returning), was joined by Dispensables Sesto and Pyrus. Lastly, Torbin came too - now having been a member of all three groups.

First, the New River Gang led the prisoners and Lizard-folk past the Bhaalite Obelisk in the Cove, and showed them to the waterfall exit. Guldred thanked them for their aid one final time, and led his group of prisoners up the rocky side of the waterfall, to be delivered to Imani's care outside.

That done, all that was left to be fully decided was, which way would be the least dangerous and most effective to distract the Cult from stopping Mord's team from infiltrating the Vaults?

Options consisted of: The Bhaalite Obelisk; The Store-room grate; or The Hydra's Ledge.

OOC: This is the thread for @tglassy (Auraia & Pyrus), @Prickly Pear (Sesto), @River Song (Kurzon), @gargoyleking (Torbin), @eayres33 (Drako), and @Ancalagon (Udit)! Good luck everyone!

"I think we've determined that the Bhaalite statues are uncontrollable and unreliable at best. The cult most likely expects us to go back up by the ledge and we're likely to be vulnerable if we do attempt to climb up that way. Maybe we can sneak back in by way of the grate and then proceed to the assault?" Torbin seems a bit surprised at himself as he finishes. But step back to let others decide.

This is what was drawn in the mud on the floor of the Pit-of-Teeth (stars are obelisks):

What's that path that goes by the Store room btw?

OOC: I'm not sure what you mean. The path that leads to the store-room from the lake is a trough dug to a water-filled tunnel with a grate. It connects to the one in the Prison (also with a grate). Water flows out of them and into the lake from an underground source from the outside river. Is that what you're asking? The tunnel is under the store-room and the prison and is not on the map, but it doesn't go anywhere else.

Udit spoke up

"First, uh, welcome everyone. My trick is to shoot distracted people. I can get us past either the grates to the prison or storage room easy. I guess the real question will be where to after that... but uh, one room at a time."

The Bhaalite obelisk is the last way we should go, Sesto reasons, since pursuing the escaping cultists is what they would both expect and hope that we would do. Perfect way to ambush us, one by one. Sesto shakes his head. No stay away from the obelisk.
The same is true for the Audience Chamber, they probably guards that one with extreme care.
That leaves us with the store room and the prison, Sesto tries to recall the map since he hasn't been to those places, but going north takes us to the Audience chamber again. Going east will eventually bring us to the Barracks, which doesn't sound very clever. On the other hand, that's the way the cultists would least expect us, I guess.
Sesto agrees with Udit and Torbin. Let's pop our head up in the prison and take it from there... going east.
Udit, will you take the lead and show us the way?

"I wouldn't like to use a magical transportation system that we neither understand or control," Kurzon stated. "The prison worked last time, I vote we try again."
