D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (Infiltrators)

The bone giant seemed like the worst threat, but Zander knew he was not much use against it with the weapons he had on hand. He made yet another mental note to look into varying his equipment for just these types of situations. For now he thought if he could down the cultist in the mask maybe the beast wouldn't be under the cults control, and hopefully Mord or someone could take charge of it.

He gave a little prayer as he lashed out at the priest.

Mord & Zander

"Maybe get in there and shut the door. These heavy doors should be good for something." called the Alchemist to Mord, alarmed at the idea of his concoctions coming back to get him.

Mord summoned the power of the Bhaalite Idol and sent it at the masked cultist, who froze and made a soft moaning sound from behind his mask. Zander thrust his sword into the man's abdomen and twisted it, killing him instantly.

Mord's mind filled with images of various worshippers of Bhaal, murdering helpless people (in their sleep, old and frail, babies and children). His mind reeled, and he fought to regain his vision.

SnorLoska & Lorenn

SnorLoska struck the creature with all his might. The Bhaalite rune on his forehead glowed green and his weapon gave off puffs of smelly green gas. SnorLoska looked around and his friends appeared strange - twisted and cruel sneers on their faces with shifty eyes that looked like they were laughing at him. The creature in front of him seemed not-at-all bothered by the poisonous gas, but SnorLoska's sword cracked it's bones.

Lorenn moved into the room and thrust his rapier at the creature, wedging his blade between two bones. As he twisted it free, one of the creature's arms came off and fell to the floor with a crash. Lorenn called his rolling ball of flame over and it slammed into the creature from behind, burning it's spine.

The cultists hiding in the hallway leading to the library looked stunned. "It's about to fall!" said one of them. "Say the command! Set it off! Quickly!" said the other, and the first responded by yelling at the creature, "Plant the seed!" in elvish.

The creature's rib-cage opened and it reached inside of itself, grabbed the barrel of alchemical admixture, and slammed it into the ground. The barrel exploded in concussive energy that threw the Infiltrators into the air and to the ground. The creature came apart in shards of bone that spread across the room.

Lorenn opens an eye and shakes his head, trying to stop this persistant beep sound. Lets hope nobody will make a link between his last attack and the blast. Standing up, he looks for his companions... Everyone seems to be ok. They are recovering from the blast. Wait... Snor doesn't move. Lorenn slides to his body, uncap an health potion and empty it in his throat.

Mord takes cover behind the wall as the creature pulls the bomb from it's chest and dashes it upon the ground. He steadies himself as the cavern shakes and looks to the alchemist. "Will they only do that if commanded?" Not waiting for an answer, he steps out and fires off a double blast of energy in hopes of killing the cultist who made the command before they can do the same with the other creature.

"Try to stay away from the creature and kill cultists first! Maybe it won't use the bomb if not commanded to!"
