D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (Infiltrators)

"No, Mord! Make it explode near them!" Zander exclaims as he runs towards the wall across the room.

"Redhi- i eredh! Redhi- i eredh!" he shouts trying to imitate the instructions he heard. He nears the wall and keeps his shield up as he ducks behind the nearest cover, hoping not to get caught in another one of those explosions.

OOC: Don't speak elven (do speak gnome), so going to roll a few things.

Kurzon sees the creature filling up the corridor past the doors, it was BIG. He grabbed another javelin and hurled it at the monster. He smiled toothily, how could he miss?!

As the javelin clears the doorway, he cannot believe it as the back end of it hits the open door and tumbles sideways to land at the creatures feet.

"Well that answers that!"
​he shakes his head.
 


Udit listened intently, trying to figure out what was going on

His eyes widened as he connected the dots and then he flinched as the large explosion confirmed his fears

"Guys guys! Kill the cultists! Stay away from the big one it blows up!!!"

He had to do something... Bhaal wanted him to shoot, but he didn't have a shot. Then he saw a small beetle crawl on the table. He smiled. All he had to do was delay the cultists for a short moment... and wasn't he a high priest of a very humble god? He closed his eyes and muttered a very short prayer.

OOC: Cast minor illusion

With a small puff of smoke, Udit seemingly appeared, weapons at the ready, right in front of the cultists (I13)

Meanwhile, Udit quietly skedaddled back behind the table (T16 OOC: remember the correction on his position), pondering his next move

SnorLoska was tossed about like a rag doll from the blast. Knocked out cold. But Lorenn's potion brings some life back into his eyes, although not much, it might be enough. SnorLoska stands up again on groggy legs.

After dispatching the last cultist, Sesto heard fighting on the other side of the closed door and a big boom that rattled the door. The other group must be fighting the cultists, he yelled to the others. He opened the door and was greeted with another horrible sight... a large monster of a skeleton... like it has been made up of several other smaller skeletons. A javelin flew past his head but missed the creature. By Lathander, Sesto gasped and then he spoke in a loud voice for all to hear. Be gone, you foul creature! I command you in the name of Lathander!
Sesto's guardian angels swarm up and around the massive skeleton.

OOC: Action: Channel Divinity - Turn Undead - Wis Save DC15
Each undead that can see or hear you within 30 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw. If the creature fails its saving throw, it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. ...the creature is instantly destroyed if its challenge rating is at or below CR1/2...
To all party members: Please note that the Turn Undead ends when it takes damage. Don't attack it immediately. Wait until it runs away and we can try to say the command word (who know elvish, and heard the command word?) and let him blow himself up. Of course, only if it fails the Wis Save...
 

Lorenn, Mord & SnorLoska

As Lorenn woke SnorLoska with a healing potion, Mord fired blasts of Eldritch force at one of the cultists. The gnome alchemist answered his question testily, hard at work trying to complete his concoction as asked, and worried about the fight shaking his things. "I dunno. I think so. Those kind of choices were made by the necromancer who built the thing. I suggested they keep it protected (in the chest cavity) until they wanted it used, otherwise it's more likely to go off early. Still, I wouldn't bash those things too hard while close to them, if I were you."

Realizing that he was caught between two groups (and not wanting to be there if the creature exploded), the cultist battered by Mord's blasts, ran back into the barracks, yelling "c'mon!" to the other. He slung stones at Lorenn as he ran, one stinging the bladesinger's shoulder.

Zander, Udit, & Kurzon

As Kurzon's javelin clattered down the hall, Zander ran across the room yelling garbled badly-accented commands at the creature. The cultist that was still next to it was convinced that it would soon drop it's explosive load so he turned to flee. A boxy-image of Udit kneeling down appeared in front of him. It wasn't a particularly good illusion, but the timing was perfect. The cultist tried to leap over it in his panic to get away, and he landed hard on the other side of the illusion, rolling across the floor.

GM: It was too fun to pass up. I'll do Sesto soonish!

Sesto invoked Lathander's name and the terrifying undead hybrid turned to flee from his godly wrath. The angels flew in pursuit but Sesto held them back. The creature ran through the barracks, nearly trampling the fallen cultist.
