City of the Spider~Queen (IC)

In a few minutes the boy returns with a man of middling height. He seems quite young, wearing the loose utilitarian garb of the Dalesfolk. His long hear is roughly tied back, and a spear is strapped to his back. Its tip seems to be made of crystal in the manner of psions, and there are other clues to his profession in the tattoos crawling over his arms.

He speaks in a dazed manner, eyes not really focusing on you. "I have arranged mounts for you all. I shall accompany your group to the crypts. I will show you what the Drow have done to our land. I will accompany you if you need me. I will bring messages between you and Lord Morn."

"Yes, you will.' Morn replies, somewhat exasperated from the man's monotone. "He knows the area well, perhaps even better than Gais'forth, even if he is bad company. Well, I hope you have a good journey, and find out what's been happening. Our Dale relies on you. Fare well."

With that Shein leads you out into the stableyard, and brings out five sturdy horses. Racehourse they are not, but they will suffice you for your journey. He eyes Cain. "You have your own mount" It might have been a question, it's hard to tell.

He waits for you all to mount and arrange your gear on the saddles before he gets onto its own. It is no different from your horses, just maybe a little less well looked after. "We arrive just after noon. Supplies we can get from the farmhouses. Let us go."

With that you are off, heading towards the Douriden Crypts.

OODM: Feel free to converse among yourselves during the journey :) Shein won't listen in if you're talking amongst yourselves

It would be deeply hypocritical for Gais'forth to say that Shein makes him uneasy and at the very least creeps him out, of course that doesn't necessarily make it untrue. He does slightly, hate himself for this, but's not necessarily anything he do something about, any more than certain people can do about the affect Gais'forth has on them.
"I need to pick some food up from home, I will catch you up." he swings his mount back to the inn and collects what he needs from the kitchen and then urges the mount into a brisk trot as he leaves the town to catch the rest of the party up.

He reins in with a slight few beeds of sweat, but otherwsie unblown, "Anybody hungry?"

Cain glares back, wondering why Shein would have asked such a question. "Yeah, I gots my own mule. Just fine company to boot," the Dwarf replies.

"Now, let's get going before we gets anymore hangers-on," Cain suggests.

As they go down the road, Andrinor remmeber the bloody batles he has fought against these drow.... Remembering back to when his father died and the battles fought in neighboring towns. Thinking so intently about it, he seems to remember a distinctly marked dark elf that was the obvoius leader, that has been in every battle fought in his hometown. That drow must have had some sort of extrodinary quarrel with Andrinor because he killed both his father and mentor in front of his eyes. Mumbling to himself the party hears him say, "i cant wait to get my hands on him".
Andrinor says, "When we get to these drow, there will most likely be a distinctly marked one of extrodinary power..... LEAVE HIM TO ME!"

OOC: Can there be a marked leader of the drow? I guess i should have asked first, but usually there is a leader of the monsters people fight, so i figured it wouldnt be a problem. Pleas elet me know if there wont be, so i can edit my post.

A cart track runs from the town into the farmlands and wilds of Southern Daggerdale. Shein veers onto a track leading east after about 8 miles, leading you past a number of homesteads, the majority burned or abandoned recently, but some look like they've been empty for some time.

"Goats used to graze here." Shein murmours as you pass a series of grasy knolls.

You are lead past a low, ronded hill dotted with jutting boulders and dense briar patches. Sere grasses crown its barren slopes. Beyond this first rampart a long chain of rugged hills streatches towards the south and east- the Dagger Hills. The trail turns and copntinues south here, skirting the lower slopes.

Two old stone buildings stand in the shadow of a hill. The ruined shells of several more lie nearby, overgrown with a tough brown grass. A niche has been cut into the hillside just past the surface buildings, within which you can make out a door in the shadow.

"We are here. The tombs of the Lords of Doridrein. Do you have more need of me? If not I shall wait for one tenday for you in the last unburnt homestead we passed if you wish to report to Lord Morn."

"Are you to take the mounts back, or will they be kept at the farmstead?" asks Gais'forth, p"I'm not sure, ten days is a long time. We don't even know for sure if this does lead to the underdark yet."

"I'd say lets drop the horses off then go down and have a prelimnary scout about. Then we should have a better idea of what we are up against, even better if we can take a prisoner."

Andrinor:
"keep the horses up here and stay with them Shein, we will go through the door and make sure this is what it is supposed to be. If it isnt we shall return within the day, to report. But if it is, we shall stay down there. If we do not return by the end of the day, go to the closest homestead and wait for ten days."

Andrinor:
"personally i dont want the drow getting their hands on our horses, to make them faster than they already are. And I dont really want to take a whole day walking back to Daggerdale."
