City of the Spider~Queen (IC)

"Well, two of them are Dwarves and two of them are celestials. They are probably all comparing their family trees to find common ancestors, it might take a while. Anyway, I am a native to Daggerdale and occassional milita member. I presume I have been called here on that basis, but you can never tell. I go by the name of bard should you wish a label, though I have talents that are more than strictly bardic. You, I presume are a warrior?"

"I guess, you could say that, although my fighting styles are probably much much different than any other 'fighter' you've ever met."

"I wonder when milord shall arrive... I would desperetely like to know of which the basis of this summons has been sent. For i have been made to travel all the way from my home in Cantol, which to say isnt very far on horseback, but when you have no horse at this time... well im sure u can understand. Although if it is from milord it must be very important, hopefully some type of military expedition."

"while we wait may i see your sword, this is 1 of my hobbies, although i must say im not to good at appraising the values of weaponry, i do love to compare my sword with another nice sword now and then."

Lord Randal Morn of Daggerdale enters without flourish.

"I thank you for coming so quickly. I heard that there were several adventurers in the area, so I took the opportunity to gather you all. You see, you all have reputations as problem-solvers, and I think I have a problem that needs solving."

He calls for refreshments before continuing.

"Seven days ago a band of Drow raided several farms and freeholds about 10 miles south of here. A number of people were killed and the marauders caused much damage. local militia tracked the Drow band to the vicinity of an old set of crypts on the western edge of the Dagger Hills. Rumour has it that thse crypts ontain an enterance to the Underdark."

"Three nights ago, the Drow raiders returned and caused even more damage. I think the time has come for some experienced and capable adventurers to put a stop to these raids. We haven't had trouble with Drow in Daggerdale for hundreds of years, and I have no idea what stirred them up now. Can you help me?"

Ishahn speaks up, eloquently and forthright'I will Pledge my Axe to your cause, Lord Morn, for ever have the Drow preyed upon my people. As well, I would see this Underdark entrance if it so exists, for such an egress for the dwellers in the Lands below is a dire thing, so close to your fair demnese.'

"My sword is already pledged to the Dale and is yours to command. If my demon pledged kin are going to prey upon my homeland, then I will make them cease and desist, by whatever means necessary. Should I be able to avenge my mother, then that is all to the better."
"It would explain why people have been more than normally shy of me these last few days, though in truth I hardly notice. Do we have any idea as to their number or motive? Have they taken any slaves or was this their idea of sport?"

- I wonder, have they made more of my ilk? -

with my bow i'll protect these land against drow and bring peace to these lands. like many of my ancestors have done be for me.

"I'll gladly take up my axe against those worthless dark elves," Thunderfoot says. "The Underdark, eh? No place for shrinking cowards. Good thing you asked me to come along."

"C'mon, Ishahn," Cain suggests. "We can take care of this problem. Let's go."

"Ah, I knew there was somethin' I didna like about ya, elf! Yer in league with these Drow, aintcha?" Cain demands. "Kin, eh? Maybe you're the first one we should get rid of."

Cain grasps his greataxe in both hands and readies it. "I've done my fair share of Drow-killin'. Point me in the right direction, Morn. You won't be sorry."

Cain Thunderfoot, do not question the loyalty of our new companions, and you would be wiser to especially not cross the ones I have taken as friends. If we are to deal with these drow, we cannot have fueds between comrades. We must band together, and defeat these monsters in the name of Lord Morn!!

Milord, if i have not made it obvious that i will take up arms against these drow, and defend your honor, and the honor of daggerdale, i tell you now. For many years has my town of Cantol, along with probably all of your homes (he points to everyone in the room) been plagued b these beasts, Lord Morn is right action must be taken, it is time to deal with the drow and the underdark!

Gais'forth stands there, unimpressed by Cain's waving his axe around, and speaks slowly and clamly "I see, so your solution to this issue is to walk around Daggerdale and kill everyone who looks kinda odd . I am sure you must be a great warrior to thus make needless enemies of those who would help you."
"Know then, that I owe my existence to one such raid as this. My father, who I know not, fled from a chancing patrol even as he planted his seed in my mother. Lucky for my mother who otherwise would surely have been killed when he had finished with his sport"
"I have wandered all over the face of this earth to find somewhere where I belonged, not in Drambath, not in the forests with the followers of Eilistraee, nor in Amn nor Sembia did I ever truly belong."

He steps inside the guard of Cain's axe and makes eye contact "I returned here because this is my home, and despite the mistrust I am still held here by many, these are my people and I will not see them hurt, nor will I stand by and suffer the followers of Lloth to bring more of my ilk into the world to suffer at the hands of such as you."

He steps back and addresses Lord Morn, "It is my duty to help at this time mi'lord, and I will do so.

Ishahn speaks softly behind Cain, into the other dwarf's ear 'Friend Cain, I sense no Evil in this Child of Sorrow. That he is half-drow is a fact, though I think he seeks to right some of their wrongs. I have had stranger Allies than he, I assure you.I am sure that he can lend insight into the ways of the Drow; let us quell our rage for now, for soon will we be deep in the blood of the dark elves.'
