Spoilers Doctor Who s15 (or 2) [[spoilers!]]

(I have not seen all the Hartnell Toymaker ones so I don’t know if that was a thing the first time around)

It would be hard to see any of the original Toymaker story, as that is one of the ones almost completely missing. I am not sure if they even have the audio for it, the way they do for ones that have been animated.

Edit: it looks like a fully animated version of the 4-part series was finally released last year.

I don’t think that’s true at all. I think it shows you don’t watch much sci-fi.
I bleed sci-fi. And the Directors of several of the Star Wars movies are on record saying they want a more star wars style star trek universe. . Sci Fi shows only work well when if they operate within the fictional science they use. When the writers can just take a strand of the Universal DNA and reboot a "new' universe it's Harry Potter not sci-fi. When you just do a time reset of your entire sci-fi shows history, it's not the same series and you should have just made a new one. This wipe it all and start over because I want to ride the old IP's Coattails, even though I don't like it anymore,;or the I want it to be Like the show I like better mentality of too many modern Directors is not helping the Genre

Example: "Star Trek Beyond" or, as I call it, "Fast and Furiuos, Tyken's Rift."

No, what you said was: "There has been a strong movement by all the studios to "Star Warsify" all sci-fi". That's the claim we're refuting.

So you stand by your claim that the above list--Three Body Problem, The Expanse, Andor, The Last of Us, Foundation, Black Mirror, Severance, Altered Carbon, Westworld, 12 Monkeys, Firefly, Ophan Black, and the Battlestar Galactica reboot--want in your words 'a simple special effects driven model instead of good writing and consistent stories that stick to their own internal rules"?

Because if that is your claim, I respectfully suggest that you either have not seen those shows or you weren't paying attention when you did. Because they sure as hell don't match your description of them!

Even modern Star Trek still manages to churn out good product- Strange New Worlds is an incredible show, and I can't wait for it to return.

fair enough. I'll amend my statement to Disney and the studios are strongly trying to Stars wars'ify doctor who, and Star Trek. My statement was far too broad. There are other sci fi IP's that have stayed true to thier Scifi .

Holy crap.

The main episode itself, eh. But the end?

Susan! And the Rani! Whoever had “Mrs Flood is a Rani” on their bingo card, give yourself a pat on the back.
