Sort of. They invested $1B in OpenAI and as part of the deal Sora users get to use (some?) Disney IP for 3 years. The investment suggests Disney is looking to make serious use of AI going forward.
Yeah, we are going to see trial balloons with this kind of thing pretty soon. Yesterday, I would have said it was with one of the 1950s movie stars who've licensed their likenesses, but maybe now it'll be a B-List Disney character starring in AI-generated experiments to get us froggies comfortable with that warm bathwater.
