Alright, here goes.
Question 1 (Smiting): Let's take a L15 Paladin/L5 Divine Champion of Tyr (diety is irrelevant for this, but there for completeness). The holy warrior decides to combine the Smite Infidel and Smite Evil abilities in a single strike, resulting in +20 damage if the target is a valid target for that sort of beat-down. Where the question is is that while the damage from the two attacks stacks, does the to-hit bonus that each smite attack would grant seperately also stack? So would a 20 CHA paladin/champion activating both abilities at once get a +5 to hit, or a +10 to hit?
The bonuses in of themselves are typeless, and I'm inclined to say they would stack, in part due to the state of typelessness, and in part because the champ can only pull this 1/day, so it might as well be pretty damn good in order to justify how rarely the warrior can actually use the big attack that's supposed to place the paladin at least somewhat on par with a fighter or a barbarian in killing ability.
Damn, I'm being wordy today.
Question 2 (Gullet-stuff): Now, a swallowed character can deal x amount of damage to a monster's insides and escape. My question is, "Can the character choose to remain inside of the monster instead of escaping once an adequate hole has been cut?" This might be an obvious yes, but I'd like to make sure -- I find the notion of some prepped two-weapon-style short sword specialist killing the Big T from the inside-out to be fairly amusing (yes, being digested would hurt, but it'd hurt a lot less than meleeing the big guy).
Anyways, thanks.
