D&D (2024) 2024 PHB Release Hype Thread

We are 1 freaking week from being able to get the 2024 PHB on Beyond or from our FLGS (I'm getting from both). Even with all we've seen in previews from reviewers and hype from WotC, I can't wait to get my hands on the product and start to dig in!

What are you most excited about for the new PHB?

For me, it's really digging into the Monk and Warlock classes to try and decide which will be my first PC in 2024 (if Sorcerer doesn't sneak in and take them both out).

Most excited: Monk buffs (and stunning strike nerfs), Rogue buffs, Origin feats (bye variant human!), Dual Wielding buffs, new Grappling, new Wild Shape, GWM/SS changes

Not excited: Conjure Minor Elementals, new Backgrounds, Paladins nerfed into oblivion

This, for now. But a fixed monk is likely the highlight.

We’ve used the new paladin. It’s still one of the strongest classes.

Oh man. I am wondering if I am too late to hope to get one at my local game store. I probably should have stopped by and asked them over a month ago to put me on a list.

As an FLGS retailer, I saw the pallets full of PHBs at my distributor warehouse this morning. It was exciting to see (but disappointing that they couldn't give me my order until next week in case I started selling them early. I would not do that, but I WOULD READ IT!)

I think it would have to be the tiniest little game store to not be able to add you to it at any time before it's out. And probably even for the first week at least. Unless there are supply issues, or they wind up drastically more popular than we expect, then we ought to have the exclusive cover for at least a few weeks, and we should never not be able to get you a regular cover version.

I am really looking forward to it! Sadly my hype has died down after I heard my alt cover copy will arrive a month later.

I think that I'm going to wait for 2nd or 3rd printing.

There will surely be some rewrite for it.
