Since nobody's started a thread on this yet...

Did anyone think the plot was really exagerated this episode?

It took the lawyer, what, 15min to get up, find a judge, get a court order signed, get a US marshal, and drive to CTU. Justice is swift in the US! Seems like this lawyer thing was only thought up to set up Jack's "outside the law" gig. They seem to be recycling plot elements from previous seasons.

Anyone else thought Edgar was gonna do like the dead CTU agent's wife did in season 3, ie, shoot the terrorist? They were certainly setting it up that way.

Our bet here is that Chloe's gonna go too far and Edgar's gonna choke her. He's about two snide comments away from snapping.

The angle I thought was interesting was the "new president is feckless coward" approach. We've decended quite far from President Palmer, haven't we (maybe this is the point?).

I kind of liked that the lawyer on the show was the guy who played Charlotte's husband on "Sex in the City" and the political consultant on "West Wing." He's got this "too busy and irritated" air about him that works well for lawyer and politican parts.

It's strange what they do well and don't do well and what we all notice.

I thought travel time for Jack was good. In fact, I think he said it would take him twenty minutes and it ended up taking him thirty. However, as you said, the lawyer got there really fast with the judge's order. I was surprised that no one else thought about the lawyer's timing before Jack did, especially when the judge's order was so specific.

I am with Remus in that I like the actor who played the lawyer. And Remus is right that he has the correct "air" about him.

Have a good one! Take care!

Also, being from Iowa, some of the things they showed about Iowa were weird. For example, Jefferson is a small town and I don't know why the nuclear warhead would go there. I could understand Ames but not Jefferson.

Second, why was the Iowa Sheriff's office there but not the Highway Patrol?

Third, the map they showed of Iowa and where the convoy was headed looked wrong but I had accepted things by this point and didn't go back to nit pick.

I am at the point that someone else is at after last week's episode with the football. Yes, not everything is like that, but if it adds to the drama and to the overall show, I am willing to accept what they show us.

I also like the idea of the wimp president!

Have a good one! Take care!

Yeah, Jack's travel time was right. He said 20min, and that's what it took him (maybe a bit more).

Same here, I was surprised no one at CTU thought about the timing... they catch a guy in the middle of the night, bring him to CTU, and 15min later his lawyer is there with a signed court order, and they don't find it strange?

Everyone is too busy to think of the small things, with the captured nuke on the loose. With Jack coming from the outside, so to speak, and been chasing Marwan for all that time...he simply put two and two together, and voila!! A monkey wrench came hither.

Well...it does look that way...Edgar is truly:( ...going. And but I can hope for a different outcome.

The thing that struck me as just too odd was there mentioning loosing track of the warhead because the territory was mountainous.

It was travelling from Illinois to Iowa. There are some hilly bluffs in areas, but mostly the region is open prairie and farmland.

I still like the show, but that was just wrong.

Just when you think the terrorists can't get any more evil, they bring in a sleazy lawyer.

I loved the interrogation scene at the end, though. That ex-marine bad guy folded faster than Superman on laundry day when Jack started breaking his fingers.
