[3.5] Champions of Bloodscale Clan

Leaving his position of cover as planned, Krixle will rush forward and swipe viciously at the nearest plant kobold. Not even checking to see if the attack lands, he moves quickly back into a more defensive posture, hopefully in time to avoid the counterattack.

Daragix is more cautious than Krixle, so he wil only take a few steps forward and to the side, trying to block the passageway and make sure no enemies get past him to attack Aurix.

Zaryz hisses out a quiet curse as the plant-kobolds come around the corner. "Hold one second, Krixle!" he says. The dragon kobold focuses his mind on the flames of the Bloodscale Clan's forges, and channels that heat into a fiery bolt at the two plant-kobolds, pointing at them with one armored finger. The air hums with power as Zaryz generates the momentary blast of heat and flames. Zaryz's mind was starting to feel weary, though, and he knew he couldn't produce much more than one more bolt like that before resting. Hopefully Krixle waits just long enough to avoid being caught in the beam.

Boingy! Boingy!
Plant-Kobolds! (Round 1)

OOC: I took some liberties with this round to keep things moving.

Leaving his position of cover as planned, Krixle starts to rush forward. Zaryz hisses out a quiet curse as the plant-kobolds come around the corner. "Hold one second, Krixle!" he says. The overeager kobold remembers his fell encounter with the darkmantles and delays his charge.

The psychic flames char the two plant monsters into barely recognizable blackened lumps! Then, the corridor echoes with what sounds like snapping twigs and rustling leaves.

As the smoke rises and swirls, three more of the creatures rush around the corner, weapons at the ready. Krixle renews his rush and swipes viciously at the nearest plant kobold. Not even checking to see if the attack lands, he moves quickly back into a more defensive posture, hopefully in time to avoid the counterattack.

Krixle's attack strikes true, but the wound doesn't prove as mortal as it should have, perhaps due to the creature's strange anatomy. Aurix advances, and with the whispering of a couple of words and aiming his hands toward the plant creatures, shoots a line of fire at each. Aurix curses loudly as the gouts of flame sail past the plant monsters, scorching the wall behind them. Daragix is more cautious than Krixle, so he wil only take a few steps forward and to the side, trying to block the passageway and make sure no enemies get past him to attack Aurix.

[sblock=Combat Box]
Initiative Order: Zaryz (6), Monsters (5), Krixle (5), Aurix (5), Daragix (2).
Aurix: uninjured.

Krixle will motion Zaryz back, and attempt to move into the space he vacates, if any. Meanwhile, he'll focus on avoiding the attacks of the plant-kobolds, and allow his more dangerous comrades to burn them in bonfires.
[sblock=OOC] I don't really understand the combat box, why is Krixle's initiative so low?
Action:
Full Defence, and if possible, take a five foot step back.[/sblock]

Zaryz hisses quietly as more of the plant-kobolds arrive. He focuses on the closest uninjured new arrival, stabbing deep into its mind with projected thoughts of rage and pain, trying to fry its brain, if the plant-kobold even has one. Then the dragon kobold steps up into the space beside Krixle, hissing out "Step back, Krixle! You are still injured. And I cannot produce much fire for awhile."

[sblock=ooc]Manifesting Mind Thrust, augmented to 2d10 damage (rolled 8 total) for 2 power points. Will DC 13 negates. Then taking a 5-foot step up into the space beside Krixle, to face plant-kobold #2.

Daragix snarls at the foolishness of just wading into a fight. Nevertheless, the dragon kobold hefts his spear, tucks himself up a little and rolls forwards, trying to pass through Krixle and Zaryz and get around the plant-kobold, to get to its side or flank it, if possible.

(If he gets there...) Once there, he brings his spear to bear, stabbing into the plant-thing.

[sblock=OOC]
Tumble attempt to avoid AoO and stab from side or behind, flanking if possible.
Tumble: 13
And Shortspear Attack & Damage: 12 and 3
+2 to the attack (for 14 total) if Daragix manages to flank.

Sorry for the confusion. Like I said, I took some liberties and had Krixle delay until after Zaryz's flame blast. Otherwise, Krixle would've been in the line of fire [pun intended] and quite likely crisped along with the monsters.

That make sense?

Seeing the new plants arrive, Aurix lifts his hands and makes a few gestures, he starts a speaking out loud, his voice going high and low sounding both comical and weird, the sounds float over to the plant creatures and attempts to take hold of their minds.

Spell cast: Hypnotism 2d4=6 HD of creatures DC:15 to resist. Last 2d4=5 rounds if successful.
