Yay! I'm glad to hear that you like Thousand Suns; it's at the top of my to-buy list.

Off-topic-ish: Will I see a review of it by you on rpg.net (or here), or are you out of the reviewing scene now?

I had a review ready to go here of Modern20 when I found out our review system here is basically kaput for new products until EN2 goes live. Since then, haven't written any new reviews. :(

I bounced around the idea about putting a review up on RPGnet (of both 2k Sun, and of Spirit of the Century during actual play review week). It's just a matter of finding the time and dedication of sitting down and writing the review. So I am out of the routine, but not entirely out of the "scene".

For me, the pressing future looks like this:

1. Adventure 2 in Age of Worms (me = player)
2. Then, a mini-campaign of Vampire in classical Rome (me = player).
3. After that Warhammer 40k RP for about six sessions (me = GM)
4. Then 4e for an adventure or two, to put the game through its paces. (me = probably GM)
5. Then a homebrew, part 2 of an epic campaign for about six sessions (me = player).

Something like that. We're not wedded to any one game system, we play around. :D This year we've tried Usagi Yojimbo, and a couple of home brews as well. We're chomping at the bit to play 40k, and looking forward to trying 4e. Might look into the new Traveller as well, and Reign.

Oh, and we'll throw in a couple of sessions of Call of Cthulhu into the mix as well (me = Keeper).

Too bad that it is possible to cheat on these polls. Would be nice to a non-tainted poll on this subject.

I am not saying that it has been tainted, just that it would be nice if we could be sure that hasn't happened.

Cheers

You really need a poll option of:

I'm staying with 3.5.

So I will vote ""other". My feelings are similar to DragonLancer, who said, "My group and I will be sticking to 3.5 with no 4E anywhere in the future."

Based on your sig/profile it sounds alot like you are saying its tainted.

At the risk of sounding non-informed or stupid, How do you "cheat" on a poll? And why would anyone want to cheat on a forum poll?

This doesnt make sense to me but if it is possible to cheat on a poll, wouldnt it be more slanted to 4E's favor here since it seems that more people on ENworld seem to favor 4E?

C&C

Hi,
I will be buying the 4th PHB, but as I am the GM of my group, we will be sticking with C&C. We just started a Lankhmar Campaign, and we only play about 1/month.
However, I may try to convince them to play C&C via the Virtual Tabletop.

I never said how it would be tainted. While I plan to switch to 4e, I am no way a rabid fanatic, my sig is mostly there for fun.

The deal about polls, is that you can vote even though you aren't logged in. Which means that anyone can log out, and vote as many times as he wants, and thus achieve any result that fits his bill.

Considering every other poll we have seen (until this bug was discovered and made known to the greater public) had a significant majority in favor of 4e, yes, I do believe it is possible that someone tampered with this poll. Then again, it could be that no-one did, and it was all the other polls that were tampered with.

Either way, I stand by that it would be nice to see a poll that for sure hadn't been tampered with, that is all.

Cheers,

Good Morning, All:

Today, I voted Other in this poll. My current plan is to primarily run Savage Worlds, which I chose to start playing in December after becoming burned out on DM prep for 3.x. (400+ individual game sessions over the course of seven years or so just burned me out.)

I will likely play in whatever system the GM desires to run, and I have already pre-ordered the 4E books from a personal and professional sense of interest. What I've heard about 4E, I like, but I don't see myself running anything other than Savage Worlds for at least a year or two. By then, I'll be able to see what direction 4E takes, and then I can make a reasonable and informed decision at that time.

So, as a player, it depends on the DM. As a Gamemaster, it's Savage Worlds for now, and then it depends on how 4E looks whether I'll run it or Savage Worlds going forward. I don't think I'll run 3.x again except for the occasional One Shot at a D&D Meetup or something similar. (Great system, but too much prep time required, and too much antagonism from players when I don't allow them to take classes from books I don't own.)

With Regards,
Flynn
