(5.24 PBP) Vault Redux (OOC) Fitz's Refresher

A few niggling correction things:

1) Am I correct that Imani's Sending Stones are held by Lorent, Aywin, and Shamal (I had thought Urgan, but Merrick seems to think Shamal).
Shamal has them. He already used them to send a very cryptic message to the other groups.
3) Merrick has 1/4 Hit Dice. @TaranTheWanderer You have it listed as 0/3 but he's Level Four. He's got one left.
Thankyou. Corrected.

Darius did not take the sword, with his strength it is a waste. I went back and I don't think we decided who took the weapon. If we want I can take it and use it similar to a torch which I was carrying before. Unless someone else want to claim it who will use it as a weapon.
Oh, I didn't think that you were using it as a sword, just as a light source. But as Loklafd can use the sword, AND needs the light more than the others, PLUS is an NPC, so can be the party's "Torchbearer". We can say that he has it, at least until Team Lake meets with a group that has a character that might actually benefit from a longsword.

As an aside, I find it amusing that Longswords are still by far the most common magic weapon found in Adventures, in spite of, IME, it no longer being very popular with PC builds. It really is a fairly niche build these days, relatively speaking, when once it was a go-to for many characters.

@FitzTheRuke, is Guldred moving past the lit cave, or moving into it? I took it from your post that he was walking past it, continuing to the north along the shores of the big lake. But I can see how @Tonguez took it as him moving towards the cave opening.

Lorent has the stones

And don't take his complaints about getting dirty as a veto to going into the sewers :D

You can try to open the grate under them, as long as they aren't standing on it. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to move them. In the least, they could be a meat shield.
I guess my question was more about whether they were standing on it. From the map and your prior description, I had assumed they were, and my question was meant to clarify that aspect of the fiction. Your response here, though, seems to call that into question as something that has not been determined or cannot be perceived, maybe because of the darkness?

Yeah, Shamal has always had the sending stone for our group. Much to the bewilderment of the other groups. You know what they say ... Truth is a three edged sword. What actually happened. What you think happened. And whatever is going through Shamal's head at any given moment in time.

I am going to try and catch up, but I did see the post with the curse. Eh, I will figure some way to Shamalize it.

Yes. They are standing OVER it, but unless one or more of their feet is actively on it it can still be opened with them there.

The way I tend to play these games, this sort of thing is determined by the dice. You roll bad enough when trying to open it, the dice are telling you something is wrong. It could be rusty, twisted, jammed, or in a case like this, very likely stood on.

If you move them first, that last excuse goes away. Does it lower the DC of opening it? Maybe, but it won't matter that it does if your roll is either high enough, or too low. And perhaps someone will think of something clever to either adjust the DC further or allow a reroll, or make their own attempt.

Does that make sense?

Yes, it sounds like you're imagining a grate that's smaller than the area they're standing on, whereas I was imagining it taking up the whole area. Thanks for the clarification.

One more question, does the wagon provide cover?
