(5.24 PBP) Vault Redux (OOC) Fitz's Refresher

@Lidgar - I have failed to mention, but should - there's quite a few fish in the lake - both river-trout that have become stuck by going down the side-stream, and some strange, mutant, sightless variety that prey on those. Mostly they all flee from a big frog, though! And they are relatively safe among the grasping vines, which would ignore all but the largest of them.

No, you had no Long Rest. Any new Spell Slots you gain from leveling show up "unused", though.

good.
You had a Short Rest, so you can use Arcane Recovery, yes. You used Mage Armor, and did Silent Image (that was the barricade, right?) not cost you a spell slot?
Yes -- and so 2 level-1 spells cast, arcane recovery, and x hours left on mage armor (lasts 8 hours from before the ambush).

Sorry, I'm not following you - casts what? Fog cloud?
Yeah, I don't mind you switching Web for Fog Cloud. We can chalk it up to a character-sheet administration error on your part. Urgan picked the Cloud.
Thanks. Done.

I'm a little unclear on the plan, which might mean that we're imagining two different things. I've certainly seen it happen. The Watchtower is possible, though not easy, to assault, and doing so is unlikely to alert the Gatehouse. However, having a fog cloud roll in right at the time that the wagon is passing by might be viewed as suspicious, unless you've got some great ideas about how to stage it, so having "Team Caves" just jump out and leave might be difficult - though it seems like no one is paying particularly acute attention to the wagon as it rolls by. Perhaps if you put the fog down on the ground, so that they only notice it if they happen to look straight down from the tower as the wagon rolls right through it... heck, I suppose that would be smart whether you assault the tower or simply have three PCs and Corrah jump out and leave. They don't have to go too far to the east to take cover amongst the avalanche rocks, and not far past that, they'll be "around the corner" and out of the tower's sight.

So I guess my question is: Fog Cloud, or not, Assault the Tower, or not, Team Caves leave on foot, or not?

I'd say it is easier to jump out as we pass by although the guards.might notice smaller number of people if they are attentive.

Spell is always obvious, isn't it, precise bank of fog at the place and time there isn't any other?

I'd say keep the spell ready in case we need cover, otherwise save it

Double post:
While Merrick was originally slotted for the kobolds, I feel like team Bluff needs a fighter.

And now team kobolds has Corrah.

Team bluff currently have cleric (melee), warlock(ranged) and rogue?

Both rogue and gloomstalker are probably better with kobolds. Traps aside, having a sneaky rogue unlock doors and infiltrate rooms while the bluff team run distractions is a good idea.
