(5.24 PBP) Vault Redux (OOC) Fitz's Refresher

Right, sorry. What would the DC be to set up a trap with oil? Just something to spill over the grate after it's closed
I'm not sure I understand. If you're just going to spill oil over the grate after it's closed, there's no roll, you can just do it (with your Action), but if you want it to have some kind of mechanical trigger (like lighting when someone opens it, or dumping oil on them), I think it depends on how complicated that thing is, so I'd need to know more about your goal and approach.

He's ta
A basic wire trap deal. I want to set something up so the grate gets oily and Copper doesn't have to teleport through the grate after it's closed.
He's tall enough to reach up and close it after everyone is through and if he has oil, he can just slosh it on. But if you want to rig it to dump oil on whoever opens it or something, I guess it would probably be a dc15 DEX Tinker or Thieves' Tools thing.

@Hriston Poor Terrin has not been having a good day, overall. He's working on trying to find a way to shore (in the dark, mind) but let's see how the others do before moving him too far forward. @Neurotic and @Leatherhead, consider it similar to combat rounds when you respond (you can jump across yourself and toss him a rope, for example, but don't get carried away with too many actions).

Yeah, I had a sense of this when posting and originally wrote "begins swimming" but opted for the more immediate "swims to the far shore." I didn't intend a reading that implied that he actually reached the shore, though, so I think I'll edit it to the earlier wording.

It's not easy to tell, because it is only a top-down map, but the narrow between the two points is 15 feet above the water on Copper & Stryke's side, and 10-12 feet up on Lorent's side. Terrin quickly will wash through to U30, which is even lower relative to the ridges (the north lake is lower than the south lake by about 10 feet) AND, to make matters worse, the "shore" (as it looks on the map) is a cliff on the west side.

This is all to say: You will quickly run out of rope when it's held at both ends.

But still! I think that we can assume that, being a Rogue, Copper acted quickly. If Terrin can make a dc11 STR Athletics check, thankfully still with Guidance, he can catch the loop of the rope at U32 before washing out to U30. Stryke will drop a Dancing Light down to him, so he doesn't get disadvantage.
