D&D 5E (2014) 5e EPIC MONSTER UPDATES

I haven't read the whole topic (given that it is as big as all outdoors) so I'm not sure if it has been brought up, but Acererak is listed as having a Str of 1 and a Str mod of +0. Is this intentional?

I have decided to take a short break from the Fey Court and work on some aberrations. Thus, I give you the Eldritch Titan: Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger in the Aberrations section.

And it is awesome!

Maybe specify that grappling with a limits number of claw attacks, or does the thing have many claws? Also, shouldn't a creature pushed 50 feet not be knocked prone automatically?

Thank you!

Yes, Ulamog has 4 claws/hands and I should specify this, but I just feel this is common sense that any DM should be able to figure out (with a description / picture). I've add this language before and it just feels a bit silly to me.

The intent was: The creature is knocked it away (push) or smashed down on the spot (prone), but yes something knocked 50 feet should probably be knocked prone as well!

That looks like a mistake to me - thank you for catching it! I will have to get it corrected in a future update.

Wow. That's a huge amount of work. Can I suggest one set of tweaks?

Epic Legendary Resistance (base): no matter the situation, an Epic monster always gets a save or ability check as appropriate.

Epic Legendary Resistance (improved): no matter the situation, an Epic monster always gets a save or ability check as appropriate, and never suffers disadvantage when making such rolls.

Epic Legendary Resistance (greater): no matter the situation, an Epic monster always gets a save or ability check as appropriate, and always rolls such saves and ability checks with advantage.

Passing a saving throw or ability check then becomes a Legendary Action.

One peeve, mind: I see a number of the critters require a +x weapon to hit; we did away with that nonsense in 3.5E and I'm disappointed to see its return. One of the nice things about 5E is that even the baddest monster can be brought down by a horde of fanatical peasants.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this, is there a time where they normally do not?

That's all well and good for dragons and such, but I kinda thought the entire point of these monsters is that they are just SO far above that they are above bounded accuracy. Would you really expect all the fanatical peasants in the world to be able to kill a god, regardless of system?

Some spells, for example, do not allow a saving throw.

If they're not killable then why provide stats? Fiction is replete with heroes killing gods with ordinary weapons or even their bare hands.

So like getting a Dex save to dodge out of Magic Missile? Personally I would be against this, but I can understand why you want this. I would rather go through the list of spells that don't allow a save and make sure gods have counters to them on a case by case basis. As a player I would hate being told that my spells has a weakness not mentioned in its definition; if we're not gonna define such things then why bother being so specific as to stat out gods in the first place?

I forgot about the damage immunity. I totally agree with you on this point, the immunities are somewhat dumb. I don't object to bounded accuracy breakingly high ACs and such though.
