Who says summoners are losers? Not us!

Congratulations to the Circle of the Shepherd, who will now advance to the final round, along with her spirit totem, her guardian spirit, and a half-dozen nature spirits!

I think you mean Shepherd?
Woopsie daisy! Sorry, I hadn't had my coffee yet.

The new thread is live!

Probably wishful thinking.

DM: "What are you guys playing?"
Player 1: "I'm going to be an Conjurer!"
Player 2: "I'm going to be a Battle Master!"
Player 3: "I'm going to be a Paladin of Vengeance!"
Player 4: "I'm going to be a Shepherd. Baaaaa!"
Nope, just half-asleep. I honestly expected Shepherd to win once Stars got eliminated. (I've seen enough of these to know what happens when two underdogs split against a leader.)

It wouldn't be Sheperd. It's cliched and annoying at the same time. Summons slow down combat and are ineffective for anything apart from getting in the way.
I 100% agree with you on the annoying/slowing down the game part.

however I can't believe what you are saying about ineffective. I ran a module with a PC with a Shepherd, it was very effective.

If the DM lets the PC pick what they summon, it's TOO good :p
Shepard is alright.

It's similar to the Shaman from 4E.
I really like the Spirit thing, especially the Bear for the Temp HP, and the free 'talk to animal' effect.
