I 100% agree with you on the annoying/slowing down the game part.

however I can't believe what you are saying about ineffective. I ran a module with a PC with a Shepherd, it was very effective.
While not as powerful, the move to the summon spells instead of conjure spells alleviates the slow down problem. Much more streamlined and no DM interpretation required. Now they just need to make some summon swarm versions for those who want to have 8 wolves but don't want the slowdown of tracking 8 wolves.

Have them all resolve at once. When they “attack” it’s a save vs damage and knockdown, save for half and no knockdown.
 




They didn't, they could have voted against the boring ones (Land and Shepherd).
Better of they (you) vote against the ones you don't like. ;)

Shepard is alright.
After Moon and Land, it was the next best choice for me. So, once it came down to the final two, it really didn't matter much to me which won.

On to the Fighters!
