(Adventure) Feral Smackdown Battle Royale

Sir Ishmael on 6, AC 17, HP: 7/19

"A fine hit! Demonbane I dub thee!" Sir Ishmael smiled at Rurik as he stumbled under the toxin's effects. He moved his shield arm over the stab wound. A surge of weakness passed through the Paladin's body, but he managed to weather the storm. There was work to be done and bones to break. He focused his will to the task at hand.

The Halfling's vision stopped blurring when he concentrated on his target: the Dark Druid.

Though he was slowed by the weight of his possessions, Sir Ishmael charged at the Feral's leader. Violet was a great weight to the Halfling's poisoned muscles, but he managed to raise her above his head as he ran across the stone floor. He had seen the Druid fell one of the other group... but he had to try. There was fear in Sir Ishmael... However, there was also courage as well as a strength the small Knight never thought he had...

"Lana! Lana! Rets lana Etern!!!"*

<Charging "Violet" +7 1d6+2>

<Ack... can't power attack...>

*Draconic: "Fall! Fall! Fall to Never-ending sleep!"

OoC:Ack, I think that the Druid is just out of range/angle for Ishmael's Charge, since the table constitutes an obstacle in the way...

IC

Ishmael staggers forward, setting up a Charge upon his next action.

New Round

The Dark Druid, surrounded upon all sides, smiles sadistically, his wicked foot talons at the Jugular of the fallen Ranger,turning so that his back is to the north Wall, prepared to kill him at the merest movement.'What shall it be,Heroes of the Realm...will you take my life and kill your comrade? I would love to tear this weak fool's throat out, but I have other business elsewhere...
<He's holding his action,awaiting your response...a Coup de Grace>

Sir Ishmael moved to a short distance of his enemy (2 squares east and 1 square north). The war cry stopped in his throat at the imminent threat to the Ranger's life.

"I am no hero and I wouldst have thee dead, villain..." said Sir Ishmael with hands trembling from poison and rage. "But not at this cost"

Violet was lowered though not dropped. "I wilt not halt thine exit. Leave him be, fiend"

Velbrik - AC: 16; HP: 2/18; Atk: Longsword +5 (1d8+4, 19-20/x2) [Inspired]

"I don't think that you fully understand the gravity of the situation, creature," Velbrik says, spitting blood at the man's feet. He kneels down to the orc at his feet and carefully cuts its throat (coup de grace). "You see, it's a question of numbers," Velbrik continues, his musical voice taking on a harder edge. He stands up, watching the feral druid, and takes a step toward. "Countless innocent lives you will be allowed to murder, unobstructed..." Velbrik gestures toward the ruined form of the man lying on the sacrifical altar. "Or one man," he continues, nodding to Troi, "who, in all likelihood, can be brought back anyway? And why do you think we would believe you in the first place? Would you really release him if we were to release you? Perhaps, perhaps not. But that is irrelevant."

"It is irrelevant, because, more importantly, it is a question of numbers in another sense as well. You see, there are quite a number of us, and only one of you. Kill him, and we shall undoubtedly slay you - slowly, of course. There are only two exits to this room, and we block both of them. Perhaps an underground chamber was a poor choice for your ceremony?" Velbrik says, sneering. "If you try to hold him as a hostage while you leave, we won't let you - because you cannot carry out your threat, as that would seal your death. You have nothing to bargain with."

He continues, coldly, "I offer you another alternative, of course. Surrender, turn him over to us, and it's possible we'll let you live - languishing in a cell, perhaps, or some other equal fate, but alive." Velbrik brings his hands up, the longsword pointed at the feral druid while the wand remains leveled at Troi. "Now call off your wolf and admit your defeat."

Bluff +8, I guess. Maybe untrained Intimidate +2. Also readying an action to use the wand on Troi if the feral druid CDG's him - can I do that?

Rurik: on 12, AC 16, 16/21 HP: Shortbow - +6, d6+2.

[Oh. That's just cold, man. Rurik would have iced your recurring villain. Oh-ho. Not a particularly graceful application of Rule Zero, but I see you working. Yes, I definitely see you working. You sure you need to roll any dice? :)]

Rurik, training his bow on the dark druid all the while, flashes a bemused look at his next casualty. "Yer dead so much's yer e'en twitch, ye bastard. If yer was lookin' at all, ye saw whut we dun to yer demon. So yer only shot's ta call off yer wolf, and back away, slow-like. Anythin' else, yer gonna fry. If I dun e'en like the way ya smell, ye get one through tha heart. So now yer got ta akse yerself: 'Do I care 'bout me own life more er less'n 'ese wags care about that stump onna ground?'

Yer move, pal. Whatsit gonna be?
"

[Drop waraxe (free), quickdraw shortbow (free), drawing a plus two arrow, and taking aim at the druid, as described in the previous action. Rurik will shoot the druid at the slightest provocation. If there is no provocation, Rurik will continue to walk slowly toward the druid.]

"Whitefang...watch that creature, and kill him if he moves towards the human," Telerin said quietly to the wolf, taking a few steps forward and readying another arrow, aiming it straight at the Druid.

((Readying an action to shoot if the Druid attacks anything.))

OoC: Folks, he has his action (killing Troi) readied against you all doing anything.
Your readied actions will not disrupt this (I see nowhere in the rules where it allows readied actions to disrupt readied actions,please correct me if I am wrong).
I think that Felix is more concerned with the Dire Wolf still in his face, so...

IC
The Druid laughs at the various outbursts from the party, saying ' Well, what's it to be,sheep,I ask you one time. Move aside and I will let this creature live, for now...I doubt that you would trust my Word, but I swear on the Laws of the Wild * that I will honor my part of this bargain.

*:Telerin knows that this Druid will keep his end, as even the power of such a depraved man hold him to such oaths.

Meanwhile...

Felix hastily fires again at the Dire Wolf, missing the beast.

Thurgan, however, scores a hit again <6HP>, felling the beast,dead.

Troi slips to -5 HP...

Velbrik stabs the Orc at his feet, killing it.

Sturm holds...
OoC:I am not going to auto-play anyone into something that will jeopardize things either way.

Tara holds with a crossbow bolt aimed at the Druid.

Ishmael is up...

All please see OoC post

Edit:Ugh, I love yellow, but I keep forgetting that the color option doesn't put an endcap on now...My eyes hurt when i just read back on this post....

Rurik, advancing slowly and steadily, crossbow trained on the Druid to within 20' (and then stopping), continues to converse. "No, sir: yer'll be tha one whut backs slow-like away from tha' stump, an' gets tha 'ell out o' 'ere. T'won't be no false moves, 'an I'll swear on the graves o' my ancestors that we'll let ya live, but this ain't yer monastery. Ye jus' cain't be 'ere. Yer hasta unnerstan', it'd innerfere with tha cleanup!"

Thurgan - Init: +2; AC: 18; HP: 20/29; Atk: W-axe +7 (1d10+3), X-bow +6 (1d8+2)

Having felled the dire wolf, Thurgan adjusted and attacked the orc that just tried to gut him. An' did a fair job o' it, too, Thurgan thought.

OOC: Morale included. Flanking not included. +1d6 Sneak if flanking. Attack feral orc.
