Adventure: Hey! That's Not Wayne's Basement! (DM: H.M.Gimlord, Judge: Ozymandias79)

[sblock=OOC;Player tactics]
Well, I can't really see anything besides letting Rujah beat on it until he breaks it or pulls it apart, unless someone has a ranged attack to help. Once the barrier is down and we have a map of the battlefield, I might be able to plan a bit better. On that note: I felt really bad once I realized I could have marked those bloody rats earlier[thought the Warden marked at the beginning of their turn, not wheneber]... so I should be a bit better at defending now.[/sblock]

[sblock=tactics]I've technically got a ranged attack (two hand axes), if you think that will help. [/sblock]

Well, Rujah can break the barricade alone anywhere between 2 and 6 rounds. 6 if he rolls all 1's on damage rolls, and 2 if he rolls 2 14's. Plus, if I manage to succeed on a DC20 str check(long shot, need to roll a 16 or better), the barricade it dissassembled regardless of HP. I guess it all depends how long we can afford to wait to break the barricade.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]There are no enemies pressuring us ATM, and the fire is out, so I vote we stand back and let Rujah beat on it. It's not like it's beating back, right? It's just a wall.[/sblock]

"Come now, Dragonman, I know you can hit harder than that," Jin said, attempting an encouraging word.

Riardon
Riardon gasps as his spell takes effect delayed... This wasn't as he had planned. He feverently looks around how he can help.

[sblock=Tactics]
Still have my Aid the Injured encounter power to give some healing. Riardon also has a ranged daily and 2 javelins.

Riardon
(before the talk with the man) After healing Talon, Riardon decides to bring some trouble to his enemies, conjuring a cold cloud among them.
This should be happened as the standard action before the man spoke... to late to complain.

-----

Everyone in 20 sq around Riardon gets a +2 to initiative.
When you spend an AP, you get a +3 on attacks.

Either way, it would have resulted in the same. In fact, if it had been done on time, Talon would have never seen the necklace, the fire would have been lit automatically, and you would still, likely have had to deal with three additional human thugs on the other side of the pile. As for mechanics, it might turn out to your advantage.

In character, however, it plays out like a grievous miscalculation. Sorry that I misunderstood this, but doesn't seem to have changed much.[/sblock]

Fenwick turns to Talon. "Who this 'she' you talk about."

"She is voice in my head." Talon tries to explain, pointing at his forehead. "She led me to secret door back there and said 'Want to know what is next? What would you risk for me?' right before 3 enemies fell down dead for no reason. She kill them maybe. Pendant was glowing green when she talked to me. You not hear her too?" he asks with a puzzled look around at the others. Dayna the wolf cocks her head to the side while looking at Talon as if wondering what the heck he's talking about.

"Do you think it is enchanted?" Jin asks, and then continuing that line of thought, "Do not let it possess you, Talon. It might be a spirit oni inside."

[sblock=OOC]In Jin's far land dialect, all evil creatures are some kind of oni.[/sblock]

"I doubt Varquat's wife's necklace would be possessed with any spirit, save perhaps the woman to whom it belonged..." The Dragonborn grunted, before prepaing to swing his hammer once more.

[sblock=OOC]
So, shall I just keep sending attack rolls at the barricade?[/sblock]

Fenwick thinks very intently for a moment. "Different necklace, maybe?"

[sblock=ooc]I see no reason for you not to attack. I'll line up behind you to charge through once you get it down[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Sorry for the silence. I went back to work yesterday, so my days of being able to post at 1hr intervals has ended. It'll be nightly (GMT -5) at best from here on out.

If the strategy is for Rujah to bang away at the Barricade until he succeeds, I can save the rest of you some time, but I'm going to need move actions with coordinates. Because of the smoke, you won't have visibility into the room until you enter or pass through square G23. G22, BTW, regardless of the success, remains difficult terrain.

I promise. Things will get a whole lot more interesting from here :devil:.
