"I tell you nothing!" the Hexer spat, but as Kane's grip tightened, he relented. "Fine! Fine! The othersss have been sssent to work in the labor camp, at the mine!" Pressed for more details, the Hexer added, "Only a few guardsss! Maybe four. We were the main force."

Stanng listen's intently as Kane pressured the kobold into talking. He could tell the kobold was lying through his teeth (passive insight of 18). He looks at Kane and says... This one is brave indeed Kane. He actually has the "huevos" to lie right to your face.

He gets closer to the Kobold and almost whispers in its ear.....

Look kobold. I can't keep my friend here from cutting your fingers off one by one, cutting your skin off an inch at a time, or holding your feet over an open fire for that matter, if you continue to lie to him. His temper is very short and he is much bigger than me and I can only convince him for so long that you don't deserve the slow and painful death that he wants to give you....

Diplomacy: 1d20+12 → [17,12] = (29) Roll Lookup - included the synergy of +2 from Kane again.

[sblock=Insight DC 25]To answer Hergunna, He's lying about everything.[/sblock]

The kobold wimpers in fear. "Fine. Fine. But give me time to think. My god forbidsss me to ssspeak. I musst firsst pray for itsss forgivenessss."

[sblock=Insight DC 12]He's not lying, but something still feels off.

"What? You try to tricksy Kane? That's it little runt, no more mr.nice bugbear" Kane says, as he grabs one of the kobolds hands and puts a finger in his mouth. If nobody stops him, the large goblinoid bites down hard on the little creatures finger, hoping to sever the digit.

intimidate (1d20 9=13) doh!

"No, not trying to trick. Truth I tell. No, NO, NO!!" The Hexer yells, writhing in his bonding.
[sblock=Insight DC 14]For his speaking, the Hexer again bluffs (rather poorly).[/sblock]

[sblock=OA/Mechanics]
We have entered quasi-combat. Kane's action to bite off the Kobold's finger and the kobold's response have triggered an OA from Kane and Stanng. Kane has the option of continuing his action, which will create superficial (in terms of HP) damage, or changing to an actual attack, or stopping. Stanng has the option of attacking or not.

Stanng watches coldly as Kane bites down on the kobold's finger. He nods to Kane to let him know that he still has the floor. He then looks patiently at the Kobold as if he is waiting for the response he should have given before his finger was bitten....

[sblock=Draconic]Why do you not calm down little one, your god will protect you if you but cooperate with us.[/sblock]

Wil speaks soothingly in a foreign tongue, distracting the kobold from his earthly pains and focusing him on helping the group.

[sblock=mechanics] Word of Friendship for +5 diplomacy, 1d20+15=20 Diplomacy and 1d20+3=18 Insight
Note everyone: Wil grants allies within 10 squares of you a +1 racial bonus to Diplomacy checks

[sblock=OOC]
Good Idea John, but I think we might be past the point of diplomacy. Still waiting on Kane to declare his (1) continued action, (2) revised action to take an OA, or (3) the stop of his current action to bite the finger off.

Looks like no one else is going to stop you buddy.
