[Adventure] The Mine-Militia Identity. (DM: horticulture; Judge: covaithe)

OOC: I'll take the hit for a reroll for Prime. Bringing myself down to 20. I can post some IC stuff justifying it tomorrow. Posting from my phone.

OOC: Ah, thanks. Rerolling...

Fortunately for Prime, Felix was talking that moment and the dragon doesn't notice him until the tiles on his checks start clanking and spinning and his sword is raised in anticipation.

OOC: Looks like Sharpe will need the mounted combat feat. :D

Veserab looks perfect for a dragon, though it is level 6 and might have to be re-flavored as it is more like a black dragon. The dragon could be half-black dragon or be changed by a magical event, or something. I suppose it could be scaled down in level as well, that might need a proposal.

Veserab Level 6 Lurker
Large shadow beast (mount) XP 250
HP 60; Bloodied 30
AC 20; Fortitude 20; Reflex 17; Will 17
Speed 4, fly 8
Immune noxious breath
Initiative +11
Perception +11
Blindsight 20

Traits
Combat Advantage
The veserab deals an extra 1d6 damage on melee attacks against any target it has combat advantage against.

Standard Actions
m Bite • At-Will
Attack: +11 vs. AC
Hit: 2d6 + 5 damage.

m Wing Claw • At-Will
Attack: +11 vs. AC
Hit: 1d6 + 5 damage.

C Noxious Breath (poison, zone) • Encounter
Attack: Close blast 4; +9 vs. Fortitude
Hit: 2d6 + 3 poison damage, and the target takes a -2 penalty to all defenses until the end of the veserab's next turn. This power creates a zone of black, noxious fumes that remains in place until the end of the encounter. This zone blocks line of sight, and a creature that enters or ends its turn in the zone takes 5 poison damage. Veserabs are immune to this power's effects.

M Diving Wing Rake • Standard, At-Will
Effect: The veserab's makes a charge attack, making two wing claw attacks. After attacking, the veserab moves up to 1 square and moves in an unoccupied square.

Other Powers
Dark Wings • At-Will
Effect: When mounted by a friendly rider of 6th level or higher, the veserab grants its rider gains resist 5 poison and is immune to the effects of any veserab's noxious breath.

GM: Or we could alter some abilities and reskin it as a white dragon. As a DM I'm pretty sure I can do that. : )

I'll give [MENTION=48394]pathfinderq1[/MENTION] until the end of the day before I NPC Mina.

Mina speaks a few words on dragon/humanoid relations of the past and their beneficial outcomes for both parties in a quiet, unassuming voice before falling silent once more.

[sblock=History roll]History check for round 1 skill challenge. (1d20+12=19)[/sblock]
Upon hearing the group's collective response, the look of suspicion lessens upon the dragon's scaly face. He slowly moves back toward the oversized chair and sits back atop it. "If you've done anything, you've intrigued me. Continue."

[sblock=Rules]Each character will roll a skill check once per round using a skill that you deem pertinent and compare their result to the Individual Skill Roll table to see what effect their roll has on the group's success that round and what effect it will have on their roll next round.

Once everyone has rolled, the group will have a group total that they compare to the Round Totals table that earns them Victory Points and applies cumulative bonuses or penalties to everyone's checks in future rounds. At the end of the set number of rounds, the PCs compare their Victory Point total to the Victory Point Totals table that will determine the end result of the skill challenge - how well they succeeded at the objective.

Repeating Skills
Repeating a skill two or more rounds in a row results in a cumulative -2 penalty to the skill roll.

Action Points
Action Points may be spent to roll an additional skill roll for the round. It must be different from the skill already used.

Aid Another
PCs may take -3 on a roll before their check to grant an ally a reroll this round; they may also take a -5 to their result to grant an ally a reroll this round.

Heroic Effort
A PC may decide to expend a healing surge to gain +3 to a check before it is rolled or to apply +1 to a check after it is rolled, or do both for two surges.[/sblock]

Following the dragon, Drew tries to see something that could help him convince the whelp of the benefits of leaving the mine alive. Or that its throne doesn't contain escape switch or secret weapon.

[sblock= OOC] I am back, but still getting caught up with things. I got a big project/deadline dumped on me at work, so I will continue to be slow in posting posting for a while (until at least May 9). I will try to keep up, but if I'm dragging things along, please NPC. I will post a skill challenge attempt tomorrow sometime, probably Diplomacy at +7, + bonuses. [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]No worries. Don't work too hard. : )[/sblock]

Sell... dragon scales!?! Sharpe shouts walking over to Felix, trying to puff his 5-foot frame bigger than it actually it.

What are you, prejudiced?! Just because he is not a blaster SILVER dragon, you assume that he eats children and burns down towns and steals candy from babies?!? Many silver dragons, do that every day! Haven't you ever heard of Slimy Sullivan the Sadistic Sliver Dragon? He burns down orphanages and eats the left overs! Steals the babies from the candy and uses towns to light bonfires!

I can't believe you never heard of him! He does not look like a bad dragon, does he Mr. Monk?
Sharpe says to Drew.

OOC:
-3, Drew gets a re-roll.

Bluff on Felix= 20 (erm, I mean the dragon ;) )

Remember everyone gets +1 to diplomacy because Sharpe is a half-elf.

Re-roll. Thanks Luinnar.

"Well, he is smart enough to know not to put a fight. As for how good he is, we still need to see his reasoning for being here. But I'm willing to give him a benefit of a doubt. He is one of the ancient ones."

Prime covers his chest with the shield, so the dragon can't see it.

Not much of a help, but every bit counts.

[sblock=details]
I didn't count the bonuses from last round roll (+1) and overall round bonus (another +1), so the roll's 12. I'm spending a healing surge for another +1 bonus, so total should be 13 for a +1 point and -1 bonus to last round rolls.[/sblock]

"I guess I can see the use in giving him a second chance. Can he at least see that we're a better option for companions than these?" Felix gestures at the corpses littering the ground.

"You see, dragon, we are trained and blooded adventurers. We've all seen campaigns of one variety or another. Surely you would be safer with us than with ones such as these."
