Amazon.com is screwing me!

I preordered mine at the FLGS. I got a discount somewhat smaller than Amazon's, but I'm supporting the shop and I'll get them on release day.

Ditto.

Book for book my FLGS (http://www.gamersgambitonline.com in NJ) is close to Amazon in price for preorders, though the gift set price is still out of reach. But I get them all on June 6th with no worry about ship date. And support a cool bunch of folks who support my hobby.

I've talked to the owner about doing a Harry Potter thing and staying open an extra hour and giving them out 12:01 Friday morning. Don't know if it's going to happen, but I'm hopeful.

Cheers,

Amazon.com says the estimated ship date is June 10th!

this is called managing expectations.

if they said june 7th and shipped june 8th, you would be pissed.

if they say june 10th and ship june 8, you will be happy.

get it? same ship date, different opinion of amazon.

I'm in a similar boat. I've got my books ordered on Amazon. They'll get here when they get here.

Of course, I've got a game tonight, and probably another game next week before my books arrive.

Thankfully, there's a happy (if illegal) alternative to using the pregens and incomplete rules found in KotS while I wait for my books to arrive. No regrets here.

It didn't dawn on me until I looked again after hearing about people getting their books. Even thought I preordered my books 2 months ago, Amazon.com says the estimated ship date is June 10th! June 10th? 3 days after release they'll start shipping my books?

Ahhhhh. Help! What should I do??

What shipping method did you choose? Sounds like you might have chosen supersaver shipping which don't get shipped until after they ship the 'faster' shipping options.

Mine also has a ship date of June 10 (and, yes, it is supersaver shipping) though (and it may just be that i am near a warehouse or something) any d&d book i order with supersaver always ends up getting to me the day they say they are shipping it.

Edit: Any reason you actually need the books on release day that can't wait a couple days? If so, you may have actually want to get from a local game/book/hobby store so that you can pick it up, or else change your shipping method (if you did in fact choose supersaver shipping)

My LGS(www.thegamersguild.co.uk) is doing a 10% discount if you turn up on the day so thats £54 for the box set. Doesn't quite match up with the £40 from amazon but I'd prefer to support them, especially given how much effort they're putting into WWDnDD. Of course if you don't have a local shop then amazon makes for a really great deal, I wouldn't mind getting one of the books for free. A few days delay isn't going to kill you and if you intend to be gaming then someone in your group will probably have a copy on the day.
