Amazon out of Gift Set!

This happened to me as well. Think I'm just going to cancel. They really should have let us known ahead of time that there were going to be delays.

Got all 3 books from Barnes and Noble for $53 with free 3 day shipping. They are en route and I'll have them Monday. I also ordered May 20. It really sucks that Amazon is screwing over people who ordered that soon in advance.

It appears that Amazon is not doing "First in, First out" shipping at all. That is rather vexing.

I have no way of knowing for certain, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it is first in first out _per local warehouse_ where the books physically are.

That's just a guess though.

Err... there are several threads on this topic in general, which is where this belongs, since it has nothing to do with the 4e rules.

Having said that, I think at least for a while Amazon was first in last out with preorders; it's why I almost never preorder anymore.

How in the world do you know how many people order before you?
So, if you ordered it in Feb. how do you know that 50,000 people didn't order the day before you?

I ordered in March, canceled my order last night and bought the last gift set at my local brick and mortar.

The thing that galls me is that up until Thursday night at least they were selling these with shipping the next day. It isn't like they didn't know there weren't enough already.

A Friendly Lesson For Those Just Learing To Read English

Today is brought to you by the letter "E".

It's the first letter in the word "Estimate".

This word is in every order that has ever been placed at Amazon.

It does not mean "Guaranteed".

Also,if you ordered individual books then they will ship on time. Plenty were made.
Gift sets tend to be limited quantities and usually are produced in small amounts. Thus in trying to save a bunch of money you have to wait longer. Sounds like a fair trade to me.
